A heavyweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night St. Louis according to MMA Junkie as Robelis Despaigne faces Waldo Cortes-Acosta.
Despaigne (5-0-0) made his UFC debut earlier this month at UFC 299, defeating Josh Parisian by first round knockout. Despaigne had primarily competed in the Fury FC promotion, earning a 3-0-0 record while competing there. Despaigne has competed five times as a pro MMA fighter and four of those bouts ended in under one minute.
Cortes-Acosta (11-1-0) has won four of five in the UFC, with those wins coming over Jared Vanderaa, Chase Sherman, Lukasz Brzeski and Andrei Arlovski. Cortes-Acosta has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Marcos Rogerio De Lima at UFC On ESPN 45. Cortes-Acosta also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating Danilo Suzart by first round TKO during the 2022 season.
UFC Fight Night St. Louis takes place on Saturday, May 11 from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri with no main event announced at this time. PWInsiderXtra is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
