Delirious cuts a promo about his falls count anywhere match.  The Haze shows up and calls him buddy again, and she says she has his back tonight.

Kevin Steen & El Generico vs. Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli

Nigel and Claudio are teaming because Nigel wants Castagnoli to prove that he deserves a shot at the title.  Steen continues to make fun of the Rebound Lariat before the match.  Nigel tells Claudio to take this seriously.  El Generico also makes fun of Nigel, imitating the corner headstand.  Heh.  Nigel says he was reminded of Steen while watching The Biggest Loser.  Nigel dismisses Steen as a funny guy, albeit a pathetic, sad loser who hides his insecurities by making fun of success stories.  Steen accuses Nigel of being from Arkansas.  This continues for a couple minutes.  Eventually Nigel has enough and he shoves Claudio into Steen and takes Steen to the floor.

In the ring, Generico and Claudio face off.  Generico forces Double C to bail with multiple armdrags.  Nigel comes in when Generico isn't looking and clotheslines him in the back of the head.  Claudio tags in with a side headlock takedown.  Generico forces Claudio into the corner and Steen tags in.

Steen wants Nigel to tag in.  Nigel does so.  They lock up and Nigel quickly gets a Full Nelson, then takes Steen to the mat.  Steen attacks while Nigel is taunting.  Generico tags in and applies a wristlock, despite Nigel's best efforts to avoid it.  Front facelock and Claudio tags in, applying a side headlock.  Generico reverses.  Claudio wants to see what he's got on a shoulderblock.  Generico trips Claudio when Castagnoli tries to do the same.  Claudio with a backbreaker, followed immediately by a gutbuster, then a gutwrench suplex for two.

Claudio sends Generico to the apron and goes after Steen, but gets dumped.  Generico with a double springboard senton splash to the floor on Claudio.  Steen gets two with a pumphandle neckbreaker.  Generico tags in, but runs right into a lariat.  Claudio tags in and gives Generico a Giant Swing.  It's pretty long.  Claudio with a big Running European for two when Steen breaks the pin up.  Nigel comes in and throws Steen into the ring post, then goes after Steen's shoulder.  Generico avoids the Ricola Bomb, but Claudio blocks the Tornado DDT and tosses Generico up for a European Uppercut before pinning him with an Alpamare Waterslide.

Your winners, Nigel McGuinness & Claudio Castagnoli!

After the match, Castagnoli holds Nigel's belt up.  Claudio gives it back, and also gives Nigel an earful.

In the back, Sweeney has retrieved Bobby Dempsey and Hero says he didn't assault Bobby last week, Bobby assaulted Bobby...or something.  Hero berates Bobby and says they are all he has.  Hero wants an apology from Dempsey, stemming from when Bobby cost Hero the title in a cage match.  Bobby meekly apologizes.  Hero starts the sparring with some chops to the chest.

Falls Count Anywhere:  Necro Butcher w/ Zach Gowen vs. Delirious

It takes no time for this to spill into the crowd.  Delirious gets two with a small package, but he gets punched in the face.  Chair slam by Necro on the floor.  Delirious avoids another slam, but he eats a forearm.  Necro tosses a trash can onto Delirious...I think, it's really dark there.  Back in an area with more light, Necro throws some chairs onto Delirious, then shoves one in his gut.  Delirious comes back by throwing chairs at Necro.  Necro blocks a suplex, then suplexes Delirious onto some rows of chairs, in front of a fan who is desperate to have one of the wrestlers use his chair.  Enjoy the match, pal.

At close range, Delirious throws a chair at Necro, but he is quickly hit with a mule kick.  The action almost goes to the ring, but Delirious clotheslines Necro off the apron and dives off the apron onto him.  Gowen distracts Delirious, allowing Necro to punch him.

Back in the ring, Necro sets up a chair and drops Delirious onto the back of it crotch first.  Swinging neckbreaker by Necro, followed by a chokeslam onto a pile of chairs for two.  Delirious back drops Necro onto the pile of chairs to avoid a piledriver.  Delirious throws a couple chairs at Necro.  He sits him on the top turnbuckle and gives him a rana onto the pile of chairs.  Delirious climbs to the top rope, but misses a Leg Drop.  Necro with a Tiger Driver onto some chairs for a near fall.

Necro sits two chairs back to back.  Delirious hits him in the head with a chair a couple times, followed by a shot to the gut, then another shot to a head.  Necro slumps across the chairs and Delirious goes to the top, but he is crotched by Gowen.  He sets up to hit Delirious, but Haze comes out to save her buddy and she hits Gowen with the cane.  Haze chases Wonderland around the ring and to the back.  Delirious is caught while he is looking at this and Necro drops his back across the set up chairs for the win.

Your winner, Necro Butcher!

Match thoughts:

I'm sorry, but I just have a hard time getting into any match with one of the students in it, let alone three.  The action was actually pretty good, and they all worked hard, so it made for a good crowd opener.

The Young-Titus match also did a good job to warm the crowd up since everyone loves Silas in the midwest.  I would have had The Jetski go over since he's the guy who's sticking around.

I really enjoyed the Jigsaw-Matthews match.  Jigsaw showed a lot of fire and Matthews brings a unique style to ROH.  I am usually entertained by his matches.  Perfect undercard bout.  Won't blow you away, but it keeps you entertained.

Steen/Generico vs. McGuinness/Castagnoli could have gone better, I thought, but the last five minutes or so was pretty exciting, and featured some good booking with Claudio proving himself, working hard to win a match with the man holding the belt he wants.

Great falls count anywhere match between Delirious and Necro.  It seems like every time these two wrestle a match (not necessarily with each other), it ends up in the crowd, so I was hoping for something special and we got it.  The attendants being abused is really what won me over.

Sweet n' Sour vs. The Vulture Squad kept the pace moving quickly and was fairly entertaining, getting the crowd back into it after intermission.

Poor Kota...he's looked great in all his matches, but has lost every time.  The crowd loved it, so did I.  Good showing from everyone.

The main event was thisclose to epic.  What hurt it was the use of several key spots that I pointed out in earlier matches when they would have meant more here.  No one else should have used them if it was planned here, and it's that lack of communication that makes too many ROH matches look the same so nothing stands out at times.  Still, it is a fantastic tag match that begs to be seen since there is nothing like it from WWE or TNA.  They went over thirty minutes and it was entertaining the whole way through.

Overall, this is a strong buy falling just short of must buy since not everything on the undercard stood up to what came later.  Definitely worth seeing for the Delirious-Necro match, Delirious' best showing in months, and the top two tag matches.  You won't be disappointed.
