I have been most impressed over these last few months on the improvement in
TNA. The tremendous growth of the Knockout division. Stars such as Eric Young,
AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Rhyno given the chance to show what they are very
capable of doing both in and out of the ring. WWE recently has been criticized
for having the same one on one confrontations. TNA produces fresh and
interesting men and womens matches. TNA has really come into its own both on TV
and on tour throughout and outside this country. Thoughts?
I think TNA has done a very good job of making
the Knockout division serious and also pushing younger talent in quality
wrestling matches. I do think TNA has their own hangups when it comes to
main events (too many multi-man matches, too much interference), but their PPV
events lately have been mostly quality shows.
Has TNA ever been interested in appearing in both the countries of
Afghanistan and Iraq for the purpose of entertaining the men and women of our
armed forces?
I haven't heard of any plans for TNA to go
overseas, ala WWE, for shows.
With the surprising push of TNA's Amazing Red do you seem him becoming their
version of Rey Mysterio, Jr?
While I am a huge fan of Red and his work, Rey
Mysterio is a very unique character. Not sure Red, or any smaller worker,
can attain his level of popularity.
What makes a world title a world title in your book? TV in different
countries? Touring of different countries? The world title (or other belts-tag team,
women's, ect)
defended in different countries? How much different countries?
I think the "World Title" definition is
dead now. Back in the 70's and 80's, you had champions who traveled to
different countries and worked for different promotions against different
opponents. Now, while the WWE champions may wrestle in different
countries, they are wrestling the same people.
