Which do you feel was the best way that a
wrestler debuted? I always think of Chris Jericho's WWE debut. Everyone knew it
was him, and when "JERICHO" appeared on the Titantron, he got the pop,
even though he was a heel.
Jericho's WWE debut was definitely one of the
cooler moments of that decade. I also think Tazz' WWE debut, coming out at
the Royal Rumble in Madison Square Garden to choke out Kurt Angle was very well
done.
What are your thoughts on the Larry Fling Live
segments from WWE RAW in 1996?
The whole "Larry Fling Live" bits with
Billionaire Ted, The Nacho Man and The Huckster, to me, were an indication that
Vince McMahon and the WWF were starting to sweat. WCW was on the rise, and
for the first time since the 80's boom period, Vince and WWF were not standing
on top of the North American wrestling mountain alone. For years, WWF had
a policy of not acknowledging other wrestling companies, and now, they were
making direct shots at them.
Why did Vader stop wearing his big mask that
shot smoke in the air?
According to Vader himself, the reason he ditched
the mask was because he wasn't that comfortable walking with it on, and felt it
made his movements tentative and timid-looking. Vader said the first time
he came out without it, everyone noticed how much more menacing he was, just
from his own movements and mannerisms, so he stopped wearing it.
I was wondering, was the AWA the only place
where Bruiser Brody used the name King Kong Brody? I know he started using the
King Kong name in the AWA due to Dick The Bruiser being around the promotion,
but wondered if he decided to use it anywhere else.
I believe he may have been billed in Puerto Rico
at one point as "King Kong Bruiser Brody", but for the most part he
was King Kong in the AWA, and Bruiser everywhere else.
