Frankie Edgar was also a veteran of the Reality Fighting promotion, where he holds a victory over UFC veteran Jim Miller. Frankie Edgar will be entering the fight on a two fight winning streak and hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over a year. Frankie Edgar, along with Gray Maynard and Tyson Griffin, is considered to be a top contender for the UFC Lightweight Championship. Frankie Edgar is known for taking fights the distance, with six of his career victories coming by decision. Matt Veach made his UFC debut at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 17, where he defeated Matt Grice by TKO with punches. Matt Veach is a veteran of the Iowa Challenge promotion, where he defeated Marcus Hermann and Edgar Wade. Matt Veach will be entering the fight with an eleven fight undefeated streak, which has currently lasted over three years. Of his eleven professional fights, only one has gone to a decision for Matt Veach, which speaks to his finishing abilities. It has been well over a year since Kevin Ferguson last fought in a professional MMA fight, so conditioning could become a factor. Of his four professional MMA fights, none have gone to a decision for Kevin Ferguson, which speaks to his finishing abilities. Kevin Ferguson will be looking to use his striking skills to win the fight, with all of his victories coming by knockout. Houston Alexander has had an unsuccessful run in the UFC, with victories over Keith Jardine and Alessio Sakara, while suffering defeats to James Irvin, Thiago Silva and Eric Schaffer. Houston Alexander most recently fought in the Adrenaline MMA promotion, where he defeated UFC veteran Sherman Pendergarst. To this day, Matt Hamill has been the only hearing impaired fighter to ever have a professional MMA fight in the UFC. Matt Hamill will be looking to use his ground and pound skills to win the fight, with six victories coming by knockout. Jon Jones is an undefeated fighter who has defeated Andre Gusmao, Stephan Bonnar and Jake O’Brien in UFC competition. Jon Jones will be entering the fight with a nine fight undefeated streak, which has currently lasted over a year. Jon Jones started off his MMA career in interesting fashion, competing four times in under a month in four different MMA promotions, from April 2008 to May 2008. In total, Jon Jones had competed seven times in 2008, with only one of those fights going to a decision victory.
