3/15 - CZW RESULTS, NEWS, AND NOTES!
Nearly 48 hours have passed, and both CZW fans and management are still
talking about and recovering from one of the most unforgettable, and
ultraviolent nights in CZW history! The Combat Zone roster, and both CZW and
WXW staff want to thank everyone for their enthusiasm, energy and support on
what was an incredibly long day of jaw-dropping action. Let's take a look
back at the results from CZW's "Walking on Pins and Needles" event:
1. UNBREAKABLE ANDY defeated AARON ARBO (Wired)
2. DREW GULAK defeated RUCKUS after interference from Sabian (Wired)
3. THE SPANISH ARMADA (LJ Cruz and Alex Colon) defeated DJ HYDE and GREG
EXCELLENT (Wired)
4. TYLER VERITAS defeated RYAN SLATER to retain the WIRED Championship
(Wired)
5. EGO FANTASTICO defeated AZRIEAL
6. TOMMY END and ZACK SABRE JR. defeated KARSTEN BECK and BIG VAN WALTER in
a WXW Showcase
7. BANDIDO JR. defeated SCOTTY VORTEKZ
8. BRAIN DAMAGE and tHURTeen defeated DANNY HAVOC and NECRO BUTCHER
9. THE BEST AROUND (TJ Cannon and Bruce Maxwell) defeated IRISH DRIVEBY
(Ryan McBride and Rich Swann) to retain the CZW World Tag Team Championships
10. SABIAN and ADAM COLE wrestled to a 15-minute DRAW
11. EDDIE KINGSTON and DRAKE YOUNGER defeated NOTORIOUS INC. (Devon Moore
and Drew Blood)
12. SAMI CALLIHAN defeated DJ HYDE
13. JON MOXLEY defeated NICK F'N GAGE to retain the CZW World Heavyweight
Championship
14. JC BAILEY defeated THUMBTACK JACK in a Barefoot Thumbtack Match
The fallout is still being sorted out, but officials have passed on a number
of news and notes, and more information regarding CZW's huge return to South
Philly on April 10th, and perhaps even more importantly, CZW's huge debut in
Indianapolis in 2 weeks for March 27th's "WELCOME TO NAPTOWN"! Let's reviews
some of the most recent developments:
- JON MOXLEY successfully defended his CZW Championship in the most brutal
of circumstances against former Champion Nick Gage. Moxley's first defense
was not easy though, as he had to deal with guardrails, metal spikes, pizza
cutters, and a kendo stick in his first one-on-one encounter with Nick Gage.
The win catapults Moxley's legitimacy as Champion, and at the same time, has
sent Gage into (another) psychotic rage. The former Champion is determined
to hurt someone badly when he returns to action on March 27th in
Indianapolis.
- Following the main event, DJ Hyde announced a date for the 2010 version of
TOURNAMENT OF DEATH! The annual event will take place on Saturday, June 26th
at a location to be announced soon on CZWrestling.com
- With their victory over Irish Driveby, THE BEST AROUND have officially
capped off a full year as CZW Tag Team Champions. TJ Cannon and Bruce
Maxwell captured the titles a year ago at March 2009's "Total Havoc" event
(available now at smartmarkvideo.com), and have dominated the tag division
ever since. Under the tutelage of "Primo" Robbie Mireno, the duo appears
poised to hold on to the gold for the forseeable future.
- The once formidable friendship between former BLKOUT label-mates SABIAN
and RUCKUS has turned very ugly. "The Blk Jeez" interfered in Ruckus' return
match with Drew Gulak, costing Ruckus the match. CZWrestling.com has learned
that Ruckus is not ready to let this one go.
- 4 More Matches were taped for CZW "WIRED". They, along with other original
content can be seen every Friday at Midnight throughout the
Philadelphia/Delaware/New Jersey area on WMCN TV. Check your local listings
for exact channel listings.
- All eyes have turned towards CZW's debut in INDIANAPOLIS on March 27th.
CZWrestling.com has learned of another match signed for "Welcome to
Naptown". In a match that is not for the faint of heart, "The Hardcore
Hebrew" Joseph Schwartz has signed on to face Greg Excellent in a one-on-one
contest which could possibly tear the roof of the CZW Midwest Arena.
