During the early days of MCW, Mickie James, then known as Alexis Laree, was a very popular wrestler on the roster. Opportunities in Total Non-stop Action Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment would take Mickie to new heights. During her stay in WWE, Mickie would become the first Diva to win their first Women's Title at their debut WrestleMania, when she defeated Trish Stratus at WrestleMania XXII. Mickie would go to win the Women's title 4 more times, and claim the Diva's Title in 2009, making her the 2nd woman to win both championships. Now, Mickie returns to MCW, but the landscape has changed. Awaiting is someone who represents the new breed of women's wrestling, Mia Yim. This young upstart is looking to make a name for herself. Yim feels that a win over James will put her on the map, and has stated that she will do whatever it takes to win. 　 TOMMY DREAMER PLANS TO TAKE THE SHAMROCK CUP TO THE EXTREME! For the last several months, Cobian has had to deal with Tyler Hilton and MCW Rage Champion Adam Cole doing whatever it took to prevent the 6'6, 265-pound monster from taking Patrick Brink's MCW Heavyweight Championship. At Shamrock X, Cobian challenged Hilton and Cole to a match under Extreme Rules. His partner will be a man who defines extreme, Tommy Dreamer. The former two-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion, three-time ECW World Tag Team Champion, and 14-time WWE Hardcore Champion plans on assisting Cobian in taking out Hilton and Cole. The "Innovator of Violence" promises to turn it up this Saturday! 　 RYAN McBRIDE's QUEST TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE Never before has any MCW superstar been given the opportunity to win so much in one night. For MCW's most popular superstar, Ryan McBride, he has the opportunity to win everything. This Saturday, McBride finds himself in two main-event matches. As the defending Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup winner, McBride is automatically entered in the finals of the tournament. There, he will face the winners of the five qualifying matches held earlier in the evening. Should he win again, he would become the first man to win back-to-back Shamrock Cups, and the second man to win two Shamrock Cups. Unlike any other Cup winner, McBride has another prize available to win, the MCW Heavyweight Championship. For months, McBride has been chasing the company's top prize. But Champion Patrick Brink kept sending his stablemates Tyler Hilton and MCW Rage Champion Adam Cole to distract him from the big prize. But when McBride won the new #1 contender's match at MCW's last event, Brink would have no choice but to defend the title against McBride. The champion promises to make Saturday, July 31st, the worst night in the career of Ryan McBride. He promises that McBride will walk away empty-handed. By an overwhelming margin, the fans elected to have Johnny Kashmere compete in the Cup. MCW officials would then contact Kashmere, and he agreed to participate in the event this Saturday. For Kashmere, this is another opportunity to honor his best friend, the late Michael Verdi, aka Trent Acid. Kashmere has stated that should he win the Cup, he will have Trent Acid's name put on the trophy. But Kashmere faces unbelievable odds, as he is the only man in this year's tournament to not know who his opponent is. Who is this mystery opponent? And will they capitalize on a perhaps over-emotionally charged Kashmere? We will find out on Saturday night. 　 BATTLE OF THE BLOGS COMES TO THE WRESTLING RING For the last several weeks, an online war between Baltimore Sun Wrestling Columnist Kevin Eck and Baltimore Sun Sports Columnist Peter Schmuck has gotten out of hand. Schmuck made light of Eck's articles and of the wrestling business as a whole. Eck responded with a challenge to Schmuck to actually step inside the ring to get his own personal experience. Both men would recruit two of MCW's top tag teams to team with. Eck will team with the unusual, but very popular duo, of Cole Calloway & Ronnie Zukko.
