NWS Internet News Update For Week Of 8/2: NWS Returns To Action With A Double-Shot Weekend, NWS Wrestlers Go To Day Camp, A Couple Of Jersey Shore Jocks Debut, And More

Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what's happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation's leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This Friday night August 6th, NWS returns to the Middletown, NJ V.F.W. Hall (1 Veterans Lane at Route 36 in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, minutes from the Parkway), with a 7:45pm bell time.
Topping the bill in one of the two big main event matches that night will be former WWE and ECW TV star James Maritato, better known as the "Master of the Sicilian Slice", the one and only Nunzio. Maritato has made frequent appearances for NWS, especially in the Bayshore area, and whomever his opponent is, he is in for the match of his life
But if that isn't enough to thrill you, imagine the biggest, toughest, and meanest lady to ever step between the wrestling ring ropes. Well, imagine no more, because recent TNA TV Wrestling Star Awesome Kong will be in Middletown, and she'll be battling another veteran tough lady of the ring wars, a former WSU and ECW Women's Champion herself, Angel Orsini. Angel is awaiting her chance to once again challenge for the WSU World Title, and Kong, now that she is finished with TNA, is now looking to dominate WSU, and a win over a veteran like Orsini will go a long way towards doing just that. This is a once-in-a-lifetime matchup that you don't want to miss.
In addition to the TV stars, two local area mat veterans will lock up, as current NWS Heavyweight Champion Corrupted" Corey Havoc will defend his title against current arch rival Skitzo. Last time NWS was in the Bayshore area, Skitzo interfered in Havoc's match and cost him the victory, making it clear that he not only wanted the champion's attention, but a shot at his belt. This Friday night he will have both, and this will be a battle for the ages. Also in action for NWS will be Junior Heavyweight Chanpion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, "The Cold-Hearted Playa" Danny Demanto, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, Mighty Mikey Pacifica, Shock, and more.
The other top stars of WSU will also do battle, as WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage will defend her title against newcomer Brittney Force, and  WSU Tag-Team Champions Jana and Cindy Rogers will see action in separate singles matches against Belle Saints members Tina SanAntonio and Marti Belle. Also, Amber will be in action against Divina Fly, and in an inter-gender showdown (sort of), "The Diva" Rick Cataldo will take on Niya.
Tickets are only $21 for adults and $19 for kids and seniors.
This Saturday night August 7th, NWS debuts at the Long Branch, NJ Elks Lodge Showgrounds (150 Garfield Avenue at Memorial Parkway, minutes from Route 36 and the Parkway), for an outdoor "Wrestling Stars Under The Stars" show, with a special 8:00pm bell time.
NWS will continue their joint weekend with WSU, with an encore appearances by Nunzio.
Always trying to please their vast fan base, NWS has added two great WWE alumni to the roster that night in the likes of the always rambunctious Salvatore Sincere, plus the always controversial former WWE & ECW diva Dawn Marie. These two former TV superstars were added to fill the open spot when recent TNA wrestling star Awesome Kong, originally scheduled to be in Long Branch, got the blessing of NWS and WSU management to appear on MTV's Lucha Libre spectacular.
And speaking of big and tough and mean, that can only begin to describe the 900+ pound pair of monsters known as The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu), who are still undefeated in NWS after nearly a year and a half, and will be (literally) looking for fresh meat in Long Branch. Also in action will be one-time ECW brawler and Ocean County native The Equalizer, NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, the Jersey Shore's popular Ray-Ray Marz, Eatontown's "Evil American Turncoat" T.N.T and much more.
The other top stars of WSU will do battle, including former ECW & WSU Women's Champion Angel Orsini, WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage, and WSU Tag-Team Champion Jana.
(In case of rain, the show will be moved to the nearby Seashore Broadway Gym & Arena, 404 Broadway.)
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

Results From Last Week: NWS Wrestlers Go To Day Camp

National Wrestling Superstars returned from its month-and-a-half summer break with an annual tradition, a private show for the kids at Long Branch, NJ's Seashore Day Camp on Friday July 30, 2010. "Wrestling Day", as it has become known, is one of the favorite highlights of the summer for the Seashore kids, and hundreds of them packed around the ring to see their favorite stars in action.
    • In the opening contest, "The White Urkel" B. Fehrm defeated The Soul Assassin. The Assassin dominated Fehrm for most of the match, but Fehrm reversed an overhead slam attempt into a small packag and held him down for the 1-2-3.
    • Tyson The Finger Lickin' Chicken, with Seashore Day Camp Coach John Villapiano in his corner, defeated luchador Manuel Manny Moore. The feathers were flying as Manny tried to beat the stuffing out of the chicken, but Tyson prevailed and hit his C(luck)-U finisher for the victory. After the match, the team of Sincerely Smooth (former WWE TV star Salvatore Sincere & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smooth) and Brittney Savage came down and attacked Coach John three-on-one. It looked even more bleak for Coach John when The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu) and manager Voodoo Princess Sheeta came to the ring, but the fans were stunned when The Nightmares turned and attacked Sal and Smooth and Brittney (the Nightmares have had issues in the past with Sal and Smooth). The two teams challenged each other to a six-person inter-gender match for the main event.
    • "The Jersey Shore Lunatic" Slayer won a non-title victory over NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans. Oceans' experience could not seem to deal with Slayer's fearless and unpredictable style, and after Oceans missed a splash to the corner, Slayer leveled Oceans with a flying body press and covered him for the 1-2-3. Oceans attacked Slayer after the match and dragged him to the nearby camp swimming pool, but as he rushed at Slayer with a clothesline attempt, Slayer ducked and overhead-flipped Oceans right into the water, to the cheering of the crowd.
    • NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela won a non-title victory over Corvis Fear. The two NWS ring veterans put on a good exhibition of high-flying and mat wrestling moves before Janela foiled a superplex attempt by Corvis, then hit a moonsault off the top rope and pinned him 1-2-3.
    • In the main event, The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu) & Voodoo Princess Sheeta defeated the team of Sincerely Smooth (former WWE TV star Salvatore Sincere & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smooth) & Brittney Savage in a six-person inter-gender tag-team match. Sal and Smooth were able to hold out against the Nightmares' size and power, and even isolated Snafu (the smaller of the two) in their corner for several minutes, but when big Mafu made the tag in, Sal and Smooth and Brittney were all three together squashed by a Nigerian Sandwich, then Sheeta flattened Brittney with an assisted splash from the top rope and pinned her 1-2-3 for the victory.

NWS Brings Its Own "Jersey Shore" To The Jersey Shore Saturday August 7th

Always the first to capitalize on trends, both in good taste and bad, over the last decade, New Jersey-based, and without doubt the tri-state area's busiest and largest wrestling promotion, the name synonimous with pro wrestling spectaculars both large and small in the garden state, none other than National Wrestling Superstars, once again has trumped the rest of the pro wrestling universe and left them in the dust.
NWS has unabashedly hopped on board the phenomenal popularity of the "Jersey Shore" TV show by, how else, naming its newest and possibly most dynamic tag team to ever enter into the squared circle, as the good fans on the Jersey Shore will bear witness this coming Saturday night August 7th at 8:00pm, outdoors and under the stars at the friendly confines of the Long Branch, NJ Elks Lodge Showgrounds. The lucky ones who will be there will witness wrestling history, as the Jersey Shore Jocks, who are the hottest hunks to strut their stuff from arena to arena, will make their NWS debut.
So ladies, get your cameras ready, and men, get ready to turn red with envy, when the total impact of this tag-team is unleashed, as the Jersey Shore Jocks invade the Jersey Shore.
For ticket information call the NWS box office at 732-888-1704.

Other Upcoming Shows

Friday night August 13th, NWS returns to the Dunellen, NJ Knights of Columbus Hall (647 Grove Street, just off South Washington Avenue near Route 28) with "Bad Luck Brawl", with a 7:45pm bell time.
And as it's Friday The Thirteenth, it will be another edition of NWS' popular "Bad Luck Brawl". And the main event is certainly shaping up to be a brawl indeed, a gigantic six-person inter-gender tag-team match. In one corner will be the team known as Sincerely Smooth, former WWE TV bad boy Salvatore Sincere and "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, and their partner WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage. Against most opposition, these three veteran talents would coast to victory, but not this night... as standing in the opposite corner will be a sight that will make anyone superstitious about bad luck... it will be the 900+ pound pair of monsters known as The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu), who will team with their manager-turned-wrestler Voodoo Princess Sheeta. You'll never think of Friday The Thirteenth the same way again after you see this match!
Also on the bill will be a wrestler who likes to bring good luck and spirit wherever he goes, and isn't afraid of anything, none other than former WWE & WCW TV superstar "America's Hero" The Patriot. Plus there will be appearances by "The Legend Killer" Helter Skelter, NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela, Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare, Corvis Fear, Indian Warrior Draven, and much more, including the debut of Johnny The Jobber.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Saturday night August 14th, NWS debuts at the Island Heights, NJ Firehouse Hall (15 Lake Avenue, just off Route 37 East and West End Avenue) with a 7:35pm bell time.
This will be NWS' first appearance ever in Island Heights, and the main event that night will be a rematch from the previous night, as win, lose, or draw, Sincerely Smooth (former WWE TV bad boy Salvatore Sincere & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie) and WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage will once again face the 900+ pound undefeated 2010 J-Cup Tag-Team Tournament winners The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu) and Voodoo Princess Sheeta. This is one match you don't want to miss.
The fans will also witness the first ever Ocean County Strap Match between Hasheem "Atomic Dog" Ali and "American Turncoat" T.N.T. Once teammates in the feared group known as The Baghdad Bullies, Ali and T.N.T had a major falling out at the last Ocean County area show, and decided that this would be the only way to settle the score once and for all.
Also on the bill will be a wrestler who isn't afraid of anything, none other than former WWE & WCW TV superstar "America's Hero" The Patriot. Plus there will be appearances by NWS Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela, Ray-Ray Marz, A.C. Kewl, beloved Jersey Shore lunatic Slayer accompanied by his former manager Father Oz, and fire company special guest manager Crazy Rob Rumbles, and much more.
Tickets are only $18 for adults and $16 for kids and seniors.
Friday night August 20th, NWS returns to the Belleville, NJ Knights of Columbus Hall (98 Bridge Street, at Belleville Avenue, minutes from the Parkway) with a 7:45pm bell time.
Awaiting the Belleville area fans is a huge double main event. First off, a pair of former ECW TV hardcore icons, John "Balls" Mahoney and The Equalizer, will meet for the first time in NWS in an ECW-style "Loser Gets Put Through A Table" Match. The object is, like the match says, to smash your opponent through a table.
The other half of the main event will not involve any furniture (at least not intentionally), but will be just as damaging. It will be a gigantic six-person inter-gender tag-team match pitting the 900+ pound monster duo known as The Nigerian Nightmares (Mafu & Snafu) and their manager-turned-wrestler Voodoo Princess Sheeta against the veteran team of luchador Manuel Manny Moore & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie and their partner WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage.
There will also be a battle of top contender tag-teams, as former NWS Tag-Team Champions Team Supreme ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Corvis Fear) reunite to take on a tag-team rising fast in the ranks, The Jock Mafia (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea), plus appearances by NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela, and much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.
Saturday night August 21st, NWS returns to Union, NJ with an outdoor "Wrestling Stars Under The Stars" show at the Union Knights Of Columbus Showgrounds (1034 Jeanette Avenue, just off Morris Avenue, minutes from the Parkway and Route 22.
That night is also being heralded as "Steel Cage Mania", as both main event matches will take place inside pro wrestling's ultimate battleground, a fifteen-foot-high steel cage.
First off, former ECW TV hardcore icons John "Balls" Mahoney and The Equalizer will follow up their Tables Match in Belleville with a match in a steel cage for the first time ever in NWS. These two warriors are accustomed to heavy-impact brawls, and it's anyone's guess as to which one will outlast the other.
By contrast, the other steel cage match will be dominated by high-flying aerial assualts, as NWS' three top cruiserweights will wage the ultimate battle for the NWS Cruiserweight Title, as current champion Jumping Joey Janela will defend the title in a triple-threat match against two former champions, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smooth and Mighty Mikey Pacifica.
Also on the bill will be a bout for the vacant NWS Tag-Team Titles, as former NWS Tag-Team Champions Team Supreme ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Corvis Fear), reuniting with the goal of being champions once again, take on a tag-team rising fast in the ranks, The Jock Mafia (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea). Plus there will be an exciting girls bout between rising stars Divina Fly and Niya, an eight-man tag-team explosion, and much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids.

Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
