The AWWL Big Time Wrestling promotion is expanding with a new 30 minute program on Saturday Nights at 9:30PM EST on the MEA-TV network.
MEA-TV will air the program on their station Saturday Nights at 9:30PM EST on Comcast Channel 667, Cox Cable Channel 480 starting August 14, 2010. The program can be seen in most of Michigan, Virginia, and Washington D.C. It also can be picked up on Globecast satellite in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The program will also air in the future simultaneously on-air on the station’s website, meatv-radio.com.
AWWL Director of Creative Services, Travis Perdue, states, “We’re extremely pleased with the MEA-TV network. They are top notch professionals, and we’re extremely proud to be working with them. The program is going to be great for not just Detroit, but for every outlet that gets MEA-TV. The new programs will incorporate cutting-edge material as well as fan interaction on their website awwlstars.com. You’ll also see some exclusives here and there. We’re going to be different from the other wrestling promotions. It will be somewhat different than what airs on TUFF-TV and our syndicated network which serves 50 million homes nationwide and always expanding.”
The program will be a combination of exclusive classic matches from the Farhat family archives featuring legends such as The Sheik, Bobo Brazil, and Dick The Bruiser as well as a mix of new stars for today’s generation such as AWWL Heavyweight Champion, Whipdog Johnson, High Risk Damien Michaels, Big Rookie, Sabbath, Tim Horner Jr. and the Human Highlight Reel Sabu.
AWWL’s co-founders, Thomas and Edward Farhat, the sons of the Original Sheik, add, “With this deal, we will be able to expand internationally as well as provide shows to our fans all over the world. It’s a great day for the fans, for us and for MEA-TV. We’re still one of the best values for professional wrestling. At only $10, you get a great night of wrestling for a great deal!”
