NWS Internet News Update For Week Of 10/4

A New NWS Heavyweight Champion, A New Member Of NWS' Biggest Tag-Team, And More

Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what's happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation's leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This coming Saturday night October 9th, NWS returns to its favorite central Jersey venue, the Manville V.F.W. Hall (600 Washington Avenue, just off Main Street, minutes from Routes 287 and 28) with a 7:35pm bell time.
And as far as headliners go, "big" is the right word in more ways than one, as donning the tights and competing in the ring will be "The Big Val-bowski" himself, the towel-dancing and hip-swiveling recent WWE TV star Val Venis. Val always greets his female fans with a big "Hello, ladies!", but he will have his eyes on two particular ladies on the lineup, a pair of former WWE & ECW divas, the lovely Dawn Marie and the original diva of the WWE Sunny. At a recent show in nearby Stirling, Val had his eyes on Sunny and tried to take her home with him, but she warded off his advances. Will Val be successful this time, or will he end up with the proverbial (and maybe literal in his case) short end of the stick?
But in another match that evening, not only will the guys and girls be willing to get along, they'll have to, as they will be together in the ring in a huge 6-person inter-gender tag-team match, as the newly-crowned NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) and their new Jersey Shore girl Snookie Fly take on the duo of Total Entertainment ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie) and veteran ladies star Brittney Savage.
And speaking of champions, NWS Cruiserweight Champion Mighty Mikey Pacifica will take on former champion, and the man he won the title from, Jumping Joey Janela, as Janela will be looking to regain the title in his return match. Plus another former NWS champion, and current Ring Of Honor TV star Rhett "The Threat" Titus will make his first appearance in Manville in over a year.
Also on the card will be the 900+ pound undefeated tag-team The Nigerian Nightmares (Ma-Fu & Ga-Ga) with their manager Voodoo Princess Sheeta, Chikara Pro Wrestling stars Frightmare and Colony Ant, The Inferno Kid, Judas Young, Rich "Ice-Pick" Lowinski, and much more.
Tickets are only $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors.
Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door one hour before bell time.

Results From Last Weekend

National Wrestling Superstars returned to Stirling, NJ's Long Hill Township Community Center on Friday night October 1st, and the area fans packed the place, hoping NWS would top its stellar debut appearance last June.
    • In the opening contest, Los Luchadors (Paco Libro and Manuel "Manny" Moore) defeated the team of NWS Cruiserweight Champion Mighty Mikey Pacifica & former champion Jumping  Joey Janela when Janela turned on Pacifica.
    • The Nigerian Nightmares (Ma-Fu & new member Ga-Ga, with Voodoo Princess Sheeta) defeated The B.S. Express (Tom & Ed).
    • "The White Urkel" B. Fehrm defeated "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie.
    • NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc and "Cannonball" Jeff Guerrero fought to a double disqualification.
    • In a six-person inter-gender tag-team match, Team Supreme ("The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & Corvis Fear) & Brittney Savage defeated NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Judas Young filling in for Chris D'Andrea) & Snookie Fly.
    • In the main event, former WWE star "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeated former ECW star Stevie Richards.
National Wrestling Superstars returned to its all-time favorite Jersey Shore venue, the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge, on Saturday night October 2nd. Although not a complete sellout, it was a more than decent Saturday night crowd, loud and full of energy as they cheered on their favorite NWS stars.
    • In the opening contest, the first of two triple-threat matches, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie (with manager "The Canadian Hockey Goon" Rocco Dorsey) defeated Boricua Bad Boy Tino and Slayer (with manager Father Oz). The unpredictable styles of Tino and Slayer kept the veteran Smoothie at bay for most of the match, but in the end it was Rocco Dorsey who made the difference. Rocco attacked Father Oz on the outside, and as the referee went to check on him, Rocco snuck into the ring and leveled Tino with a DDT, allowing Smoothie to cover Tino for the three-count. But that was not the end of it, as a large muscular fan, whom Smoothie had threatened before the match, leaped out of his seat to protest. The fan, former police officer Johnny Ringo, complained to Commissioner Gino Moore, who could not reverse the referee's decision, but instead announced that Rocco and Smoothie would face Tino and Slayer in a tag-team match when NWS returns to Brick in January, and offered Johnny Ringo the opprtunity to be a guest enforcer referee, which he accepted.
    • Hasheem "The Atomic Dog" Ali (with Brick Little League's Coach Anthony & Mike Lott) defeated former WWE Spirit Squad member Kenny. Kenny started the match with a new cheer that insulted the Brick fans, drawing boo's from the crowd. It was a back-and-forth matchup of Kenny's skills against Ali's power, and in the end it was Ali's power winning out, as he sidestepped a charge by Kenny, picked him up, and gave him a "Thump"-style powerslam for the 1-2-3.
    • The second triple-threat match of the night, between NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and Judas Young and Ring Of Honor star Rhett "The Threat" Titus (making his return to NWS) ended in a time-limit draw. Oceans and Titus initially tried to team up together to take out Titus, but could not keep him down, nor could they agree on who would get to pin Titus, and eventually started fighting each other. Titus rallied and put both opponents down, and after leveling Judas with a knee whip to the head was on the verge of pinning him when the bell rang indicating the time limit had expired. Titus demanded five minutes more, but Commissioner Moore said he could not oblige him tonight, but he announced that the three would meet again in a triple-threat rematch in Lacey Township next month.
    • In a six-person inter-gender tag-team match The Nigerian Nightmares (Ma-Fu & new member Ga-Ga) & Voodoo Princess Sheeta defeated the trio of A.C. Kewl & The Preacher & Arlene (with manager "The Canadian Hockey Goon" Rocco Dorsey). Despite their arrogance, when it came time to wrestle, Kewl and Preacher and Arlene offered little opposition for the undefeated Nightmares. They attempted to isolate Sheeta in their corner, but their manager proved toughness of her own and was able to tag in her charges who flattened Kewl and The Preacher, and flattened Arlene in a Nigerian Sandwich. Rocco was disgusted with his team and ordered them out of the ring, and said he would show them how to wrestle, offering to take on both Ma-Fu and Ga-Ga himself. The Nightmares licked their chops at the prospect of taking out Rocco, but before they could attack, Johnny Ringo ran out from the back, along with Brick Little League's Coach Anthony & Mike Lott, and knocked out Rocco with a Wet Floor sign. The Nightmares then hit a double splash on Rocco in the center of the ring and covered him for the easy 1-2-3. The Nightmares celebrated their victory with a Conga Line Dance around the ring.
    • Ray-Ray Marz defeated "Corrupted" Corey Havoc to become the *NEW* NWS Heavyweight Champion. Before the match, the number-two contender Skitzo, who was next in line to face the winner of this match, came out to scout his potential opposition. This was a classic battle of Marz' speed vs. Havoc's power and experience, and the two opponents battled back and forth with countless near-falls, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. After Marz kicked out of his crucifix slam pin attempt at two, a frustrated Havoc eventually tried to bring in a chain to finish off Marz, but the referee caught him with it, and ordered him to hand it over. Havoc refused and shoved the referee, who shoved him right back. This was enough for Marz to sneak up behind Havoc and roll him up from behind, and the referee counted 1-2-3 for Marz. As Marz celebrated with his new belt, Skitzo, now the next number-one contender, came into the ring to first congratulate Marz, but then leveled him with a clothesline and let him know that his title reign would end when they faced each other. Meanwhile a stunned Corey Havoc confronted Commissioner Moore and demanded that he have his guaranteed return match immediately. Since Commissioner Moore had two challengers entitled to the next title shot, he announced that Marz would have his first title defense in Middletown next month against both Havoc and Skitzo in a triple-threat match.
    • In the Main Event, former WWE superstar "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeated Danny Inferno. The northeast veteran Inferno, after his initial hesitation to get into the ring, proved to be a "tough guy" opponent for Hacksaw, but the veteran Duggan outlasted Inferno, and put him down with his patented running tackle for the three-count, sending the fans home happy.

Other Upcoming Shows

Saturday night October 16th, NWS returns to the Union, NJ area at the Union Elks Lodge (281 Chestnut Street, at Route 509, just off the Parkway) with a 7:35pm bell time.
NWS, always looking to give the fans more every time, will top this show with three huge main event matches.
First off, Union's own newly-crowned NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea), who won the titles in an epic battle at the last Union area show, will defend the titles against the tag-team who attacked them during their post-match victory celebration, The Mad Men (Nick Talent & "Too Hot" Steve Scott). Will the Jocks' home-town winning streak continue, or will the two challengers finish the job they started last summer?
Also on the bill is a tag-team match being billed as the modern-day "Rumble In The Jungle". And this battle will feature not two boxers, but four wrestlers of truly epic proportions, as two former WWE superstars and members of wrestling's famous Samoan Family, Sammy Anoa'i Fatu and Matt Anoa'i (better known to fans as The Tonga Kid & "Superhero in Training" Rosie), will team up to challenge the biggest and most dangerous tag-team on the circuit today, the 900+ pound undefeated pair of monsters known as The Nigerian Nightmares (Ma-Fu & Snafu). With nearly a ton of beef in the ring at once, this match is guaranteed to be one for the ages.
And if that weren't enough, former WWE and ECW superstar Al Snow, accompanied by his trusted companion Head, will make a rare NWS appearance in Union. His opponent remains a mystery, but the fans can be assured that Al will make sure they get what everybody wants.
There will also be appearances by regional and local pro mat stars such as "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, "The Happy Hillbilly" Justin Blackwell, and Mister Nick Gregory, as well as Union's own Steve "Little Gipper" Gipke and Anthony Scorace, and much more.
Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.

Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
