Quinn & Morris, PC
Question: How does a bill become a law?
Answer: With the help of Quinn & Morris, PC

SLI  has been given a lot of credit for getting the Massachusetts concussion bill passed. We would like to thank Mike Morris and Jim Morris of Quinn & Morris, PC for their pro bono leadership on the campaign. Mike Morris, an SLI Advisory Board member and former Bowdoin football star led the charge, coordinating SLI's Awareness Day and creating a tidal wave of momentum that led to the bill passing the House and Senate unopposed. Thank you Mike and Jim. Read more about Mike here.

SLI Responds to MIAA Misinformation Campaign Against Concussion Bill

MIAA spokesman Paul Wetzel has made curious statements undermining the new law.

"There are things in this law that are going to be expensive,'' he said. "Giving physicals to 13,232 band participants is clearly one of them.'' (Read full article here)

According to the law, marching band members are not required to get physicals, and the bill is not an "unfunded mandate" as Wetzel has called it. SLI is baffled by the MIAA's response and lies about the bill, and also disappointed that the Boston Globe did not bother to read the bill for themselves before confusing the Commonwealth. Thank you to all the partners that helped pass this terrific bill.
