9/21 - News and Notes - Tag Team Tournament Semifinals to take place at November 13th's NIGHT OF INFAMY and more!
The road to Cage of Death is well under way, and on November 13th when CZW returns to South Philly for Night of Infamy, the final battle lines will be drawn for the most Ultraviolent show of the year - Cage of Death XII! For the past several months in the Combat Zone, a tournament has been underway to determine new CZW World Tag Team Champions. Now as we approach November, just four teams remain. At Night of Infamy, we will narrow the field to just two, with the winners earning the right to square off at December 11th's Cage of Death to crown the new CZW World Tag Team Champions. Early this evening, CZWrestling.com has confirmed the two semifinal matchups...
- The first of two semifinal matches will pit two of CZW's hungriest young teams when THE OSIRIAN PORTAL goes head to head with the newly formed RUNAWAYS of Joe Gacy and Ryan Slater. Since their arrival in the Combat Zone, the Portal have quickly become fan favorites, and seized the opportunity to make an impact in one of wrestling's most competitive divisions. Their opponents at Night of Infamy however are not to be taken lightly either. While they have teamed for only a few matches, Joe Gacy and Ryan Slater have exhibited the chemistry of a team who has been together for years, and appear poised to go straight to the top of the CZW tag ranks. Both of these teams are hungry, but only one will go to Cage of Death to fight for the CZW World Tag Team Titles. Which will it be?
- In the other semifinal, the newly reunited team of PHILLY'S MOST WANTED (Blk Jeez and Joker) will look to keep their streak of bitterness, anger, and victories... alive. The longtime friends and partners have gelled as a unit, and have to be considered one of the favorites to win the whole Tournament. Their opponents on November 13th however just might have what it takes to pull the proverbial 'upset'. The Irish Driveby (McBride and Swann) are two of CZW's most exciting young stars. Since joining together, they have seen their respective careers rise, and on November 13th, they will find themselves one victory away from Cage of Death, and an opportunity to win gold in front of Philadelphia's largest crowd of the year. Which of these two teams will take the next step up the ladder? We find out at Night of Infamy!
