10/29 ASW FULL THROTTLE RESULTS FROM TAMPA, FL
By Alan J. Wojcik on 10/30/2010 11:58 AM
On October 29th All Stars Wrestling of Florida held its Full Throttle Friday weekly event at Strokers Billiards 11236 W. Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa, Florida.
(1) Uprising member “The Essential” Eric Cooper (w/”Infamous” Eddie Taurus) defeated Roman Wright.
The Uprising’s accountant finally sent the check to ASW management and the violence was back in ASW. Cooper jumped Wright as he got into the ring and it backfired as Wright fought back and sent Cooper running to the floor to have a confab with Taurus. Cooper came back in but fell to the same fate, so he did what he knows best to do, he crotched Wright in the ropes and went to work. The Uprising took turns in front of and behind the referee’s back beating down Wright. Wright countered out of a hold to hit a DDT but Taurus immediately got on the apron to get Wright’s attention. This allowed Cooper time to sneak up and hit Wright with an STO to win.
(2) Josh Rayne and Sean Grime of the Virus (w/Jude McKenzie) defeated Afro Boy/ “the Marching Thoroughbred” T Bone Funk.
As Rayne eluded to last week on Chain Reaction (seen on www.aswflorida.com) Jude was indeed back in ASW. However his presence didn’t factor into the opening minutes of the match controlled by Afro Boy and Funk. That ended when Afro missed a corner splash and Rayne knocked him down with a running kick to the face. The Virus took over on Afro for several minutes but couldn’t get the Fro pinned or get a submission, even as Jude spoke words of encouragement to Rayne. Afro capitalized on a lapse in concentration and tagged in the Funk who marched his way around the Virus but Jude got involved and the Virus won when Grimes hit Funk with a Perfectplex. After the match McKenzie took the house mic and said that the Virus needed to get back on track. Jude questioned Rayne’s motivation in recent weeks.
Before the next match Shooter Storm of the World’s Largest All-Nighters came out to address the news that Joey Knight suffered an injury and was not in attendance tonight. However he did have a suitable replacement, the ASW Heavyweight champion “the Jade General” Simon Sez. Commissioner Don Vinnie reminded the FXE if they do not win by pinfall or submission they will lose the championships.
(3) ASW Tag Team champions “Pretty Boy” Gu$ Money & “Prodigy” Mike Cruz of the FXE defeated Shooter Storm and ASW Heavyweight champion Simon Sez.
The opponents mentally threw off the champions in the opening minutes as Storm and Sez had an answer for everything the FXE brought to them. That was until the FXE was able to isolate Storm from Sez and then the real fun began. Being a long tenured team, Money & Cruz made several tags and spoke without saying a word to each other. The FXE had total control until Storm moved off the second rope and Cruz’s crotch met it. This allowed Sez to tag in and clean house getting close to more gold. Storm got back in with a double cross bodyblock getting two. Money recovered and won the match with a sitout facebuster. After the match and the FXE left, the Uprising hit the ring and Sez/Storm. This ended when Aaron Epic and a folding chair hit the ring. Sez grabbed the match and yelled at Commissioner Don Vincent that he was tired of the Uprising. Sez thanked Epic for helping him out and said he would give Epic a proper rematch later tonight.
(4) In a Fatal Four way match, ASW Florida Elite champion Biff Slater of the FXE defeated #1 contender Don Maximo of the FXE, Super Grover and Damien Angel.
Slater came out wearing Bobby Fonta’s armsling around his neck to remind the fans of what went down last week. Angel didn’t wait for his introduction from announcer Sean LaFlash as he charged the ring and double legged Maximo to the canvas. For several minutes Maximo and Angel fought on the floor while Slater and Grover did the same in the ring. Finally Maximo got rid of Angel long enough to assist Slater in working over Grover. Angel took flight and hit the FXE crew with a top rope cross bodyblock. Angel dumped Maximo to the floor and went to work on Slater with several high impact moves that ended with a belly to belly suplex. Grover jumped Slater but got hit with a running knee to the gut. Maximo followed with chokes but Slater went for a cover and Maximo stopped him. This set off a slugfest between Maximo and Slater for a few minutes to the shock of the ASW fans. Angel broke up a pin by hitting Slater with a Five Star Frog Splash. Grover hit Maximo with a running kick to the face but Angel broke up the pin and they fought around the ring. That ended when Angel speared Maximo and they fought on the floor. Slater recovered and saw the lifeless Grover in the ring and made the cover. After the match Angel and Maximo fought to the back as Slater celebrated his victory.
(5) “The Encore” Aaron Epic became the ASW Heavyweight champion when he defeated “the Emerald Emperor” Simon Sez.
Epic was definitely at an advantage having not wrestled earlier in the evening. That didn’t seem to phase Sez who went punch for punch with Epic in the opening minutes. Epic slowed things down with a straight jacket style chinlock followed by a two count. Sez fought back but the two men collided mid ring and had trouble getting to their feet. When they did get on their feet, Sez was the aggressor taking Epic to the mat with a Black Hole Slam for two. Epic fought back with a combo of moves for two. Sez went for the Sez Effect but the referee was pulled in front by Epic. With no referee Sez had Epic pinned but the Uprising came out to interfere. Shooter Storm stopped Eric Cooper but he didn’t stop Eddie Taurus who passed a chair Epic who wore it out on Sez before locking in a Crossface submission that Sez couldn’t escape.
After the match Sez and the Commissioner had what could only be described as a major meltdown with pushing, shoving and profanity. We’re not sure if we heard things right but we think Don Vinnie suspended Sez. We will find out more on ASW Chain Reaction.
(6) In a Six Man brawl, The Highwaymen (Butch Long, Marc Mandrake & Donnie York w/Ferrari) defeated the NuYoRicans (Ramos, Rivera and D. Lee.)
This was a brawl all over the building using anything that was not bolted down to the floor of the building. It was hard to follow but here are some highlights: Long stopped Ramos from the flag with a superplex. Mandrake split Rivera open using a kitchen utensil. Lee brawled with York until they were separated by a road sign and someone’s face. Rivera cut open Mandrake with the Stop sign. Lee’s chest became a chopping block for Long and his head met York and a folding chair. Ramos came to his aid using a metal crutch on Long’s throat as Rivera cut off Mandrake from getting his teams flag with a low blow. Mandrake stopped Rivera with a superplex. Lee got some revenge on Long using a folding chair on his back. Rivera hit Mandrake with a DDT into a barbwire wrapped folding chair as York and Long took out the other NYR members. York hit Rivera with a top rope elbow which allowed Mandrake to get the Stars ‘N’ Bars down for the victory.
