Results From Last Weekend
National Wrestling Superstars returned to the wrestling hotbed known as the Bayshore area of New Jersey on Friday night November 12th, at Middletown, NJ's Thorne Middle School Gym. A near capacity crowd filled all sides of the floor and bleachers to cheer on their favorites and witness another night of hot NWS action.
- In the opening contest, a six-person inter-gender tag-team explosion, The Nigerian Nightmares (Ma-Fu & Ra-Fu & manager-turned-wrestler Voodoo Princess Sheeta) defeated the trio of NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie &WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage. The veterans Ocean & Smoothie & Savage could not overcome the nearly three-to-one weight advantage of their opposition, and despite an effort to keep the smallest Nightmare (if you can call 450 pounds "small") grounded, the Nightmares prevailed and remained undefeated, crushing all three opponents simultaneously in a Nigerian Sandwich, followed by Sheeta leveling Brittney with a Spear-Chucker and pinning her 1-2-3.
- In a cruiserweight match, the debut'ing Spyral wrestled former Cruiserweight Champion Jumping Joey Janela to a ten-minute time-limit draw. The newcomer from Brooklyn suprised the fans, and Janela, by matching holds with him for the entire match, and came close to upsetting the veteran Janela. At the end, Spyral planted Janela into the mat with an incredible Michinoku Driver Flip off the top rope, but the bell sounded before the referee could count to three, and the bout was ruled a draw. Janela was impressed and offered his hand in a show of sportsmanship, but Spyral, angry at being denied the victory, superkicked Janela in the chest and left the ring to the boos of the fans.
- In another six-man tag-team war, the team of former WWE/WCW star "America's Hero" The Patriot & Michael Reigns & "The White Urkel" B. Fehrm (with Thorne School Assistant Principal Pete Smith in their corner) defeated the team of the 400-pound Saddam Insane & Shock & Manuel Manny Moore (with manager King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq). Despite the weight (and dirty tricks) advantage of their opponents, Patriot's team dominated the match. Towards the end, with Fehrm battling Moore and Reigns taking out Shock on the outside, King Stinq entered the ring and attempted to level Patriot with the Iraqi flag as Saddam held him. But Assistant Principal Smith jumped into the ring (it was his gym, he was entitled), seized the flag, and leveled both King Stinq and Saddam with it. Patriot covered the fallen Saddam for the 1-2-3 to give his team the victory.
- In a battle of former friends and tag-team partners, former ECW & TNA star Julio Dinero (with manager/valet Miss Michelle & "career advisor" King Ran-sid Akhbar Idu Stinq) defeated former WWE developmental star Pat "The Buck Stops Here" Buck. Before the match, Buck challenged his former friend that if he loses, Buck gets Miss Michelle as his valet. Julio hesitated for a minute, but then his cockiness took over and he agreed. The two former friends and veteran wrestlers tore into each other in a pitched battle. Buck fought his way out of a Figure-Four Leglock by Julio, and battled back to level Julio with a bulldog, then a facebuster, and a Michinoku Driver. King Stinq then jumped onto the ring and distracted the referee from what would have been a sure pinfall, but Buck took him out as well. While the referee was tending to the fallen King Stinq, former WWE star Salvatore Sincere snuck into the ring and leveled Buck with a Rock Bottom, and rolled Julio on top of him. The referee turned around and saw the cover and counted the 1-2-3 for Julio. While Julio and his buddies were celebrating their victory, out came former WWE star Val Venis. Val challenged Sal to a match later in the evening, and said that if he won, he was taking Miss Michelle home with him. Despite protests from Julio and Miss Michelle, Commissioner Moore gladly agreed to the match and the extra stipulations.
- In the first of the two Main Event matches, NWS Heavyweight Champion Ray-Ray Marz retained his title in a Triple-Threat Match against former champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc and number-one contender Skitzo. The three big men waged a hard-hitting battle inside and outside the ring with multiple near-falls, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Towads the end, Havoc put Marz down on the mat with a sleeper hold, but Skitzo leveled Havoc with a superkick before he could cover Marz, followed by a Samoan drop. But Skitzo only got a two-count before Havoc kicked out, and a frustrated Skitzo shoved the referee in anger. But Referee Sargeant Jimmy Storm, a Gulf War veteran, held his ground and shoved Skitzo right back, making him trip over Havoc. Meanwhille Marz had recovered from the sleeper hold, and hit Havoc with a flying scissors kick, and covered him for the 1-2-3 to retain his title. Commissioner Moore announced that as Havoc had been pinned by Marz twice, he was no longer a title contender, and Skitzo, not having been pinned, was now the sole number-one contender, and would challenge Marz (or whomever was champion) for the title when NWS returns to the Bayshore area in February.
- In the second Main Event match, a clash of former WWE TV superstars battling for the valet services of Miss Michelle, Val Venis defeated Salvatore Sincere. Miss Michelle was at ringside, less than excited about being the "trophy" for this match. The two ring veterans matched holds and fought inside and outside the ring, with Sal usinga chair, choke holds, and any other tricks he could come up with to keep Val down, with Miss Michelle getting in a few shots on Val as well. Val battled back and eventually had Sal down on the mat and was poised to climb the ropes and deliver a Money Shot. But Miss Michelle got on the ring apron and distracted Val with a seductive smile (that being his chief weakness), and Sal snuck up behind and held Val for Michelle to slap. But Val ducked and Sal got slapped instead, and Val rolled up the stunned Sal and got the 1-2-3 pin. Val then beckoned for a reluctant Miss Michelle to come into the ring. It looked like Michelle was starting to warm up to the idea, but that turned out to be another distraction, as Julio Dinero snuck into the ring and attacked Val, and King Idu Stinq came out to pull Miss Michelle out of the ring. But their attempt to flee was halted by Commissioner Moore, who ordered Julio to return Miss Michelle to Val. Commissioner Moore said that if Julio wanted Miss Michelle back, he would have to fight and win her back, and he announced that Julio and Val would meet in the main event the next night in nearby Sayreville, with Miss Michelle's valet services on the line once again.
Finishing up the second of two shows this weekend, National Wrestling Superstars returned to the Sayreville, NJ Knights of Columbus Hall on Saturday, November 13th before a loud crowd who, like anyone who attends an NWS event, demands a great event and once again, nobody went home unhappy and as a matter of fact, several of the fans asked when the NWS would be back in the area.
- In the opening contest, luchador Manuel "Manny" Moore defeated "Retro Rocker" Ricky Roxx in a high-flying match up.
- The second bout, originally scheduled to be a tag team match, saw team members J.T. Highlander and The Out Of Space Alien wrestle each other with Highlander getting the win by submission.
- In a six-person inter-gender tag-team match, The Nigerian Nightmares (Ma-Fu & La-Fu & Voodoo Princess Sheeta) defeated the team of former WWE developmental star Pat "The Buck Stops Here" Buck & "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie & WSU Spirit Champion Brittney Savage.
- In a Title-For-Title Match, NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and NWS Jersey Shore Champion "G.Q." Myke Quest battled to a 15-minute time-limit draw.
- "Jersey Shore Lunatic" Slayer with Father Oz defeated "Dazzling" Divine.
- In the Main Event, a battle for the valet services of Miss Michelle, former WWE star Val Venis (with Miss Michelle serving as his valet) defeated former ECW & TNA star Julio Dinero (with his manager Gigolo Joe Jones). Dinero had Val on the mat most of the match but at the end, Val Vinis scored the win and once again went home with the lovely Miss Michelle.
