JEFF PETERSON MEMORIAL CUP UPDATE: CHANGES TO TOURNAMENT PARTICIPANTS AND NON TOURNAMENT MATCHES

This year’s version of the annual event will be the 8th installment of the Tournament to honor late Florida Independent wrestler, “The All American” Jeff Peterson. In November, 2002 IPW Hardcore wrestler Jeff Peterson lost his battle with cancer. May 16-17, 2003 saw the beginning of the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup, a sixteen competitor cruiserweight in honor of the fallen star. Each year since the event has grown to international levels. Previous winners include, “Reckless Youth” Tom Carter, Justice, Chris Sabin, Milano Collection AT, Chris Hero, Erick Stevens, and Davey Richards.

The 2010 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup will take place over the course of 2 evenings, Friday December 3rd, 2010 and Saturday December 4th, 2010 at the Brooksville, Florida and Crystal River, Florida National Guard Armories respectively.

Change to Tournament Participants: Titus out/Reed in

Rhett Titus has announced that he is unable to make it to Florida for the 2010 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup. He will be replaced by Northeast wrestler Scott Reed.

Change to FIP Tag Title Match on Friday and FIP World Heavyweight Title Match on Saturday

Erick Stevens has also announced that he is unable to participate on Friday and Saturday night in the non-tournament matches. As a result, Roderick Strong had to find a new partner for the FIP Tag Title Match against the Dark City Fight Club. Strong has chosen to look to his family for help on Friday night and his tag team partner will be Sedrick Strong.

Stevens absence also means that there is no opponent Saturday night's FIP World Title Match between the winner of Friday's match between current champion Jon Moxley and Bruce Santee. An opponent will be announced for the FIP World Heavyweight Champion for Saturday night's show in Crystal River.

UPDATED NON TOURNAMENT MATCHES In addition to the tournament matches taking place both nights, we will have other tremendous action taking place as always.

Friday night in Brooksville will feature 2 FIP Title matches, as JOHN MOXLEY defends the FIP World Heavyweight Championship vs. BRUCE SANTEE, and the DARK CITY FIGHT CLUB defends the FIP Tag Titles vs. SEDRICK STRONG and RODERICK STRONG.

Saturday night in Crystal River will see the winner of MOXLEY vs. SANTEE defend against an opponent to be determined, and will also have an action packed 8 man tag team match based on the results of the first round the previous night.
