NWS Back In Action This Weekend With ECW Alum Tommy Dreamer Vs. Former WWE Star Luke Gallows, More Shows Announced For February Including An Appearance By Sean Waltman (a.k.a WWE Alum X-Pac), And More

Hello NWS fans! This is your weekly update on what's happened, what is happening now, and what is going to happen soon in the nation's leading family-friendly pro wrestling promotion, National Wrestling Superstars.

Upcoming Shows This Weekend

This Friday night January 28th, NWS returns to the Manville, NJ V.F.W. Hall (600 Washington Avenue, minutes from Routes 22 and 287) with a 7:45pm bell time.
Headlining the show will be a pair of TV wrestling legends battling it out in what is being billed as "Straight Edge Vs. Hardcore" as Drew Hankinson (a.k.a recent WWE star and member of C.M. Punk's "Straight Edge Society" Luke Gallows) takes on ECW hardcore original and recent TNA Wrestling star Tommy Dreamer.
But another match that is generating almost as much buzz among the area wrestling fans will pit another former WWE TV star, and member of wrestling's famous Samoan family, Afa Anoa'i Jr. (son of the original Wild Samoans member Afa, and recent WWE RAW TV star Manu) and his partner and fellow Samoan Tupu, against one of the biggest and baddest tag-teams in wrestling today, 900+ pounds and undefeated in NWS since their debut two years ago, Ma-Fu & La-Fu, otherwise known as The Nigerian Nightmares. This encounter is being billed as a "Tribe Vs. Tribe" battle, and looks to take no prisoners. The fans will also be thrilled by a four-way Cruiserweight showdown featuring four of the best high-fliers on the Northeast circuit today: Ring Of Honor star Alex Payne, Chikara Wrestling star Frightmare, former NWS Cruiserweight Champion "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, and Combat Zone Wrestling star Spyral. There will be plenty of other regional and local pro mat stars in Manville, including a return grudge match between Manville local favorite Rich "Ice Pick" Lowinski and Ring of Honor star Judas Young, plus a special tag-team attraction as NWS Heavyweight Champion Ray Ray Marz & luchador Manuel Manny Moore take on the team known as Bad Medicine (Indian Chief Draven & Warrior Spade), northeast veteran Danny Inferno in action, and much more! Tickets are only $20 for adults and $18 for kids and seniors.

This Saturday night January 29th, NWS returns to the Brick, NJ Elks Lodge (2491 Hooper Avenue, minutes from the Parkway) with a 7:45pm bell time.
It will be Round two of "Hardcore Vs. Straight Edge", as Drew Hankinson and Tommy Dreamer will once again battle in the main event, and whatever is left of The Nigerian Nightmares and Afa Anoa'i Jr. & Tupu after their "Tribe Vs. Tribe" battle the previous night will face each other again. At the last Brick show, Jersey Shore favorite Ray Ray Marz shocked the world by winning the NWS Heavyweight Championship, upsetting a champion who had held the belt for over a year and a half. But during Ray's victory celebration, another top contender, the big man Skitzo, attacked Ray and made it clear he wanted the next title shot. The old adage of "Be careful what you wish for..." will come into play, as Skitzo will indeed get his title shot this Saturday night in Brick.
No Jersey Shore appearance would be complete without NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) themselves, as well as NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans, "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, the beloved Jersey Shore madman Slayer (with his manager Father Oz), "The Legend Killer" Helter Skelter, "The Atomic Dog" Hasheem Ali, Bobby Youngblood, and much more. Tickets are only $21 for adults and $19 for kids and seniors.

Tickets for this weekend's shows are still available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Remaining seats, if any, will go on sale at the door oe hour before bell time.

Other Upcoming Shows

Saturday night February 5th, NWS makes its annual return to Edison, NJ's St. Matthews Parish Gym (81 Seymour Avenue, just off Plainfield Avenue, minutes from Routes 1 and 287) for "Super Brawl Bowl", with a 7:35pm bell time.
This year's show will take place on during Super Bowl Weekend, and is already being called "Super Brawl Bowl", and promises to be one of the most exciting ones ever. And how could it not be, when the main event is a match of NWS' own invention, a three-way "Loser Gets Put Through A Door Match" (where the winner is the one who smashes his opponent, or in this case opponents, through a wooden door at ringside). And joining that match is a legendary hardcore icon for whom this match is tailor-made, ECW's former homicidal, suicidal, and genocidal Sabu. Sabu will need to be all three, as standing in his way will be veteran NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans and the impressive high-flying Combat Zone Wrestling star Spyral. Both opponents relish the opportunity to take out the legendary Sabu on his own turf, and this match will be one for the ages. The fans will also witness the return of another former ECW TV star, the brain-eating Zombie as he battles the equally unpredictable Hollywood Divine. There will also be an NWS Tag-Team Title match as popular champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) take on the team that has been chasing them all over the tri-state area, The Mad Men (Nick Talent & "Too Hot" Steve Scott). NWS newcomer "Retro Rocker" Ricky Roxx will battle veteran luchador Manuel Manny Moore, and other regional and local pro mat stars will appear, including "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, Bobby Youngblood, Snake-Eyez, The Jersey Kidd, Edison area favorite Darren Venture, and everyone's favorite mascot Matty The Leprechaun, plus much more! Tickets are only $18 for ringside seats and $16 for bleacher seats.

Friday night February 11th, NWS returns to the Union, NJ Elks Lodge (281 Chestnut Street, just off the Parkway) with a 7:45pm bell time.
It will be "Brains Vs. Worms" headlining the show. The one-time brain-eating ECW star The Zombie has frightened, intimidated, and out-powered many opponents over the years. But this time he may have met his match in size, strength, and downright scariness himself, as he will be staring across the ring at none other than Marty Wright (a.k.a. former WWE worm-eater The BoogieMan). This promises to be one of the most outrageous encounters ever in the wrestling ring, and one that should not be missed. Originally from Union, but making their home on the Jersey Shore, NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea) will return to their old home town to defend their titles against the formidale veteran duo of Ring Of Honor star Judas Young & Chris Steeler. Plus Union's own "Little Gipper" Steve Gipke will attempt to settle the score with former friend and Kenilworth native "Tough" Tony Scorace as they meet in a "Kenilworth Vs. Union Strap Match". There will also be appearances by regional and local pro mat stars such as "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, Mister Nick Gregory, Corvis Fear, and more. Tickets are only $19 for adults and $17 for kids and seniors.

Saturday night February 12th, NWS returns to Keyport, NJ at St. Joseph's Church Gym (376 Maple Place in Keyport, NJ, just off Routes 35 & 36, minutes from the Parkway) with a 7:35pm bell time.
It'll be an encore of "Brains Vs. Worms" as The Zombie takes on Marty Wright once again.
Bayshore area native Steve "Rampage" Rogers has been on a quest for the NWS Heavyweight Title for over a year now. Last fall, Ray Ray Marz became the new NWS Heavyweight Champion, and Steve wasted no time in making his presence felt. It all culminates in Keyport, as Steve has promised to win the title in his own home area when the two meet in the ring with the belt on the line.
And what would an NWS show down the Jersey Shore be without The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D'Andrea)? The reigning NWS Tag-Team Champions will put their belts on the line against the formidable duo of former NWS Heavyweight Champion "Corrupted" Corey Havoc & current NWS Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Love Machine" Nicky Oceans. There will also be a three-way high flier showdown featuring former NWS Cruiserweight Champions Jumping Joey Janela and "Mr. Entertainment" J.D. Smoothie, and Combat Zone Wrestling star Spyral. Plus a grudge match between Bayshore area stars Michael Reigns and Shock, and much more!  Tickets are only $20 for ringside seats and $18 for balcony seats.

Friday night February 18th, NWS returns to Carteret, NJ at the Divine Mercy/Holy Family Parish Hall (213 Pershing Avenue, across from the Post Office, minutes from the NJ Turnpike), with a 7:45pm bell time.
And if you see only one NWS show this year (and shame on you if it is only one), then this might very well be the show to see, as making his first ever appearance, for one night and one night only, is a true high-flying TV legend who is the only wrestler to have held the WWE Light-Heavyweight Championship, the WCW Cruiserweight Championship, and the TNA X-Division Championship, he's the one and only Sean Waltman (a.k.a. former WWE star X-Pac), and in Carteret he'll be stepping in the ring against the formidable challenge of hometown tough guy Steve "Monsta" Mack. Also on the show, making her first appearance for NWS in almost two years, will be former WCW diva, and former valet to Randy "Macho Man" Savage", the lovely Gorgeous George. Plus, former WWE & WCW star "America's Hero" The Patriot will invade Carteret, along with a special ladies match, and much more! Tickets are only $19 for adults and $16 for kids and seniors.

Saturday night February 19th, NWS makes its annual return to the Bloomfield, NJ High School Gym (160 Broad Street, minutes from the Parkway), with a 7:35pm bell time.
In past years, throngs of fans have packed the Bloomfield High School Gym to see some of NWS' most classic matchups. And this year they will witness yet another "first"... Bloomfield's first ever "Loser Goes Through A Door Match", as northeast veteran wrestler Danny Inferno takes on former WWE RAW TV star Snitsky. Also on the show will another former WWE TV legend, the turnbuckle-eating green-tongued George "The Animal" Steele, plus The Famous Wrestling Clown, the 900+ pound undefeated Nigerian Nightmares, and much more. Tickets are only $25 for a limited number of Golden Ringside seats and $20 for grandstand & bleacher seats.

Tickets for all upcoming shows are available by calling the NWS box office at (732) 888-1704. All major charge cards are accepted, and group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
