1/28 ASW RESULTS FROM TAMPA, FL

By Alan Wojcik on 1/29/2011 9:54 AM

Friday Jan 28, 2011 saw ASW Florida host their weekly “Full Throttle Friday” event at Strokers Billiards, 11236 W. Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa, Florida. “Hardbody” Rick Roberts spoke before the show about the passing of former FCW star “Bad Seed” Shawn Osborne who also appeared with the Dynamite Death Monkeez performance troupe.

The wrestling part of evening was opened with ASW Commissioner Don Vinnie. He spoke about the new ASW Heavyweight champion Biff Slater who came out with the dapperly dressed FXE. The Don presented Slater with a new championship belt. ASW Chain Reaction’s Sean LaFlash asked Simon Sez about the ending of his winning streak thanks to the assistance of Francisco Ciatso. Sez said he was not worried about Ciatso he was helping the FXE celebrate, but he warned Ciatso his time was coming.

LaFlash focused on the Latin Assassins and their six month ASW Tag Team championship reign. But before they could talk, the Highwaymen (Butch Long, Marc Mandrake, Donnie York & Ferrari) made an appearance at ringside. Mandrake said he was upset at their elimination from the tag team title match later in the evening and insisted they be added. Don Vinnie said tonight is a triple threat and he could change it since the Highwaymen hold a win over the NuYoRicanz, the match was now a fatal fourway.  Just when things looked done, the former ASW Heavyweight champion Aaron Kanye Epic hit the ring with referee Jimmy Mac. Epic said he wanted the new championship handed to him now. The referee said that Epic was still ASW Heavyweight champion since the bell never rang to begin the match.  Since the match never started Epic never lost the championship. Don Vinnie had no choice but to hand the belt over to Aaron Kanye Epic. Simon Sez said he wanted to see Biff Slater get another shot at Kanye. Don Vinnie agreed and made the match for later tonight.

(1) FXE Head of Security Don Maximo defeated “Handsome” Jason Handley.

Before this match Simon Sez said he wanted someone to come out and pound some respect into Handley. None other than Don Maximo. Handley thought he could match power with Maximo and tried several shoulder blocks, which had some effect. Handley went for a submission with Million Dollar Dream, but Maximo fought out and ended the match with a ring shaking chokeslam.

(2) In a #1 contender match, Kennedy Kendrick (w/Camey Kendrick) defeated Damien Angel.

This match came about after both men came up short in last week’s ASW Florida Elite championship match. Angel took the opportunity to show the championship committee he meant business by jumping Kendrick. The fight went to the floor with Camey getting Angel’s attention long enough to let Kennedy get in a cheap shot. Back in the ring Kendrick took over on Angel with shots to the head and neck. Angel fought back only to be hit with a spinebuster for two. Angel fought to his feet and he hit Kendrick with several clotheslines and forearms to the face. Angel went to end the match with a spear but Kendrick rolled to the floor. Angel went to suplex Kendrick back into the ring but when the referee focused on the suplex, Camey tripped up Angel. She held onto his feet and the referee counted down the shoulders and awarded the match to Kendrick.

(3) In an elimination match, The Uprising (“Essential” Eric Cooper & “Infamous” Eddie Taurus) became the new ASW Tag Team champions when they defeated the Latin Assassins (“Pretty Boy” Gu$ Money & “Prodigy” Mike Cruz), the NuYoRicanz (Ramos & Rivera) and the World’s Largest All-Nighters (Shooter Storm & Joey Knight).

Remember from earlier in the evening, the Highwaymen were the fourth team but when their music played; the Uprising came out to the ring. Cooper said the Highwaymen had an “unfortunate accident” in the locker room and with Don Vinnie’s approval, they took the 4th opening. Here was the order of elimination:

    * Shooter Storm pinned Ramos to eliminate the NuYoRicanz
    * Eddie Taurus pinned Gu$ Money to eliminate the Latin Assassins.
    * Eric Cooper pinned Shooter Storm to eliminate the World’s Largest All-Nighters.

As soon as the match ended the Uprising called out Jay Lethal who is scheduled to be Simon Sez’s partner at Best of the Best in Orlando. Cooper said he had a surprise, in their corner will be Lethal’s former flame $o Cal Val!!

(4) ASW Heavyweight champion Aaron Kayne Epic defeated Biff Slater.

Epic looked like he was extremely confident before the bell rang. Once he locked up with Slater that look turned to fear as he tried to avoid being attacked. In fact Epic retreated to the locker room only to be chased back out by Slater. When they got in the ring, Epic tried to cheap shot Slater but it backfired as Slater chopped Epic’s chest leaving a hand impression. Epic fought back and used the ropes to get Slater off his feet. Once in control, Epic’s confidence returned as he dared the referee to “DQ him” as he blatantly broke rules. Epic laid the boots to Slater and then kicked him to the floor hoping for the countout victory, but Slater beat the count. But Slater paid when Epic hit him with an Otani kick for two. Epic locked in a chinlock but Slater powered to his feet only to be taken back down in a modified Crossface. To the shock of everyone Slater got hot his feet and hit Epic with a backbreaker. Slater went on the offensive with several high impact moves each time getting two. Epic fought out of a spinebuster and a Snake Eyes to hit a Zig Zag for two. Epic hit a knockout punch but didn’t get the job done as Slater kicked out of the pin. So Epic grabbed the new championship belt but referee Jimmie Mac stopped him, only to trip and hit his face on the belt. After this happened Slater hit Epic with the POUNCE but didn’t have a referee to count the pin. Slater went over and picked up the championship belt but Epic hit a facebuster driving Slater into it. The referee regained enough composure to count Slater’s shoulders down. Epic posed on the former champion. But when Epic stopped posing for the fans, Slater hit him with a spinebuster.

(5) In a career ending dog collar match, Jude McKenzie of the Misled Youth defeated Alex Decay (w/Lucille.)

McKenzie tried to avoid being put in the collar by attacking Decay before the bell. It backfired and soon enough both men were connected by the logger’s chain. McKenzie tried to run but he forgot he was connected and Decay pulled him into the ringpost. The match came back to the ring where both men laid in the slaps to the face and chest. Decay got the worse end as McKenzie hit a running knee to the corner. The fight went to the floor once more where McKenzie used the chain to choke out Decay. Alex fought back driving McKenzie down with a DDT on the floor. Decay continued the assault even as McKenzie hit him with punches. McKenzie used the chain to pull Decay into a corner out of control causing damage to the chest. McKenzie pulled a knife out of jacket and went to hit Decay, but Decay ducked. To equal things out Decay pulled out a fork and drove it into McKenzie’s forehead ripping flesh. McKenzie brought a mini painter canvas to ringside and Decay used it to create his own impressionist work. Decay went for but missed a top rope legdrop. McKenzie laid in the forearm shots and a Russian legsweep. McKenzie called for Decay to get on his feet only to be snap mared to the mat. Both men traded superkicks and fell to the canvas. Decay got to his feet first and went on the attack using the chain as a weapon. He followed with a spinning neckbreaker for two. Decay went for a second superkick but McKenzie moved and hit a DVD for two. Decay went for and hit a second superkick but he fell to the mat and somehow McKenzie fell on top of the exhausted Decay to win the match.

After the match McKenzie told the fan two years ago he came to Florida with a chip on his shoulder and Alex Decay gave him a shot as a partner. Despite their differences he was appreciative to Decay and they shook hands, only to see Decay drop McKenzie to the mat.
