- Gulak May Have Gone Too Far
Late Wednesday Night, CZW released footage of a recent "meeting" that the current CZW WIRED TV CHAMPION, DREW GULAK, held. At the conclusion of that meeting, DANNY HAVOC confronted Gulak regarding Gulak's recent comedy sketch poking fun at another member of the CZW Locker Room. Although the meeting remained civil, it is clear that Gulak's recent actions may have gone too far. As a result, Gulak may have a hard time having the rules enforced on FEBRUARY 12TH as he will have to defend the CZW Wired TV Championship against one of CZW's best ULTRAVIOLENT combatants, Danny Havoc! TWELVE years ago, John Zandig set out and created the Combat Zone. He had a vision to not only showcase ULTRAVIOLENT wrestlers, but to also showcase the very BEST JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHTS. Current CZW Owner, DJ HYDE, continues that tradition THIS APRIL! On April 9, 2011 for the tenth time in CZW history, CZW will host its famed BEST OF THE BEST tournament.
This year, Hyde has opened the tournament to outside promotions to send in their talent against the top talent CZW has to offer. So this year, CZW stars have limited spots available to them. Over the past few days, you have been viewing comments from some of CZW's top Junior Heavyweights who currently have not qualified for this year's BEST OF THE BEST, but are willing to go through HELL to get a chance! I know it is quite obvious to a lot of people… CZW is going through a transitional period. It is only natural for it to do so. Like the cliché says, “times change, people change.” Really this transition isn’t just going on in CZW, its going on everywhere. I’ll admit I’m not always welcome to change, but it is a necessary evil. You can go down a main street in any town right now and you’ll see two things… A “Going Out Of Business” sign and a “Temporarily Closed For Remodeling.” The one business didn’t want to change and was killed because of it… The other continues to live on, because it knows its customers. Sure, in a few months that business that closed will have a new business in there. But the business that chose to evolve will not care about the new business. Why? - Bus Trip From NYC to Philly for BEST OF THE BEST X!
On Saturday April 9, 2011 Wrestling Bus Trips is coming back to Philadelphia for a FULL DAY of wrestling action at the ASYLUM ARENA! The trip starts at 10:15 AM in Queens, New York and will stop a few times on the way in various spots across New York City and Northern New Jersey before heading to South Philadelphia for the CZW/wXw DOUBLEHEADER!
wXw (Germany) kicks off its event at the Asylum Arena at 2:30 PM. Currently schedule for that event is a NO ROPES BARBED WIRE MATCH, pitting DRAKE YOUNGER against JUN KASAI!
At 7:30 PM, CZW takes back over its house to present BEST OF THE BEST X! Currently announced for this legendary tournament is JOHNNY GARGANO (Dragongate USA), AKUMA (CZW), CHUCK TAYLOR (EVOLVE), ALEX COLON (CZW), ZACK SABRE JR. (wXw Germany), and DAISUKE SEKIMOTO (Big Japan)
