SHOWCASE WRESTLING RESULTS FROM MA

By Mike Johnson on 2/6/2011 8:06 PM

Showcase Pro Wrestling Results for 2/5/2011 Attleboro, MA

A championship title defense and a night of chaos, grudges, and very few scores settled.

2/5/11-Attleboro Moose Lodge-Attleboro, MA-A greatly anticipated night began with a matchup between Roger Williams and “Mr. Nice” Mike Nice.  As Nice entered the ring, he addressed the crowd and informed them that they don’t deserve to behold the SPW Heavyweight Championship Belt.  He put it into storage until further notice, but not before giving Roger Williams a shot at the title.  The title shot came with a stipulation, though.  If Williams lost, he would need to be at Nice’s beckoned call with the title in tow.  Unfortunately for Williams, Nice defended the title, and Williams was left to tend to the belt, and Nice’s future endeavors for the foreseeable future.

The first of a couple of stipulation situations were next as “Nature Boy” Gary Gold and Travis Funk, with John Cena, Sr  in their corner, stepped out to do battle with the Baker Boys.  Derek, the ring announcer, stepped into the ring to introduce a coin.  The fortunes of the men in question were set in play based on a simple coin flip.  The winner of the toss got to decide who was going to be their opponent for the night.  Travis Funk, the coin caller by default, won the toss, and chose to go up against “Brickhouse” Baker.  The two dueled for several minutes before finally being counted out together to end the match in a no decision.

The Funk vs. Brickhouse match left two men to do battle: Gold, and Devin Baker.  With  Cena by his side, Gold fought a tough fight, but couldn’t out duel Baker, not even with the trusty figure four leg lock being applied twice.  Ultimately, Brickhouse interfered, and the result, again, was a no decision.  However, hoping to put an end to the feud among these men once and for all, John  Cena, Sr called a different coin toss, and he won.  On March 18th, in South Attleboro, MA, Fabulous chose to make the last war between the two factions, a dog food match.  The losers will eat dog food for the entire crowd to see.

Da Hoodz did battle with the Dirt Devils in the next match.  Tons of back and forth action took place, but the story of the match was when “Shady” Shay Cash interfered and cost his uncle David and David’s partner Kris Pyro, the match. There seems to be trouble in Da Hoodz rankings.  What will happen next within their dysfunctional family is anyone’s guess.

Scott the ref, for the third time this evening, insisted on refereeing the next match, but not before he got himself into some serious trouble.  Scott has been training for some time, and apparently has let some of his in ring work swell his head.  He made an open challenge to any SPW superstar in back stating that he could beat anyone there.  Barricade was happy to take the challenge!!  A one sided affair transpired, and Scott was speared to oblivion to end the match.

Derek from SPW Management was set to settle his score between himself and Nicholas Night.  Intensity was in store for those in attendances, and for some that had no idea it was coming their way.  After landing a low blow to get himself disqualified, Night took to the outside of the ring to disrupt the crowd.  He first ran in back to grab a flag to lay over a fallen, but game, Derek.  Night then choked Derek with the flag until Kathy Blackheart ran to the ring to try to put a stop to the onslaught.  Night grabbed Kathy by the wrist, and that’s when Chris Blackheart, promoter, and scorned friend had seen enough.  Punches flew as the ring filled with superstars trying to pull the two apart.  The one thing that was decided: Blackheart vs. Night at the South Attleboro show on the 18th.

Finally, for the third time in as many months, “Punisher” Don Vega did battle with Cargill Vinton.  This time, in an attempt to crown a winner, the stipulation of the match introduced lumberjacks that surrounded the ring to keep the combatants in there until one was victorious.  Intense back and forth action ensued until Nicholas Night intervened from his lumberjack position and hit Vega to end the match via disqualification.  A melee ensued until Vega proclaimed that their feud would end once and for all on the 18th of March in a strap match.  How Vinton will try to wiggle out of this is anyone’s guess, but you can be he’ll try.  Regardless, the 18th anniversary show proves to be a great one, and one that will, hopefully, allow the SPW to move past these rivalries once and for all.  You bet I’ll be there.  Until next time, this is Joe Starr signing off…
