2/9- CWE 2 Year Anniversary Show Results
Feb 4th- WInnipeg, MB
1) In the opening match Team Impact, Robby Royce & Anderson Tyspn Moore with TJ Bratt became the new CWE tag team champions in a 3-way tag team contest in a match involving now former champions JJ Sanchez & "Big" Cliff Corleone with Hump and Daisy Mae and the Matt Fairlane & Bobby Fox, The Strip N Dales. Daisy Mae through in a weapon that was intercepted by Fairlane who knocked out JJ cold. Before being able to make the cover a women from the audience jumped the guardrail and kicked Fairlane between the legs allowing Team Impact to score the tag titles. It was revealed the women and newest member of the Alliance of Defiance was Lacey, Team Impact's former valet prior to joining CWE.
2) Antonio Scorpio Jr. & "The Enforcer" JP Kaos with TJ Bratt were victorious in the "North End Street Fight" against Boyz in Da Hood, Scottie Rapper & B. Brian Rich following a tombstone from Scorpio on Rich. After the match Scorpio, Kaos, and Bratt continued the beating before Zack Mercury made his return an almost 6 month hiatus. Mercury explained Scorpio did some damage by taking him out of action for close to six months but it wasn't enough to keep him down for good. Zack Mercury challenged Antonio Scorpio Jr. to a match on March 4th in Winnipeg.
3) "The Brickhouse" Paul Arcidi with Jayme Galloway defeated "Pimp Daddy" Rick Matthews in a dog collar match to become the second ever 123Approved.ca Open Rules champion. Arcidi pinned a bloody Rick Matthews following an Alabama Slam on the steel chain.
4) Tyler Colton secured the contract for a future title match in a six man ladder that included Kevy Chevy, "Beautiful" Bobby Jay, Billy Blaze, Mike Mission, and Tommy Lee Curtis. As the contract was being battled for it fell from the ceiling to the canvas, Tyler Colton dove across the ring to grabbed the contract it what was considered a major upset.
5) CWE champion Mentallo retained his championship at the 23 minute mark against "Hotshot" Danny Duggan. CWE's two most popular stars battled back and fourth with both men refusing to lose. After referee Kelly Russell was struck to the mat the ring was surrounded by the Alliance of Defiance, Royce, ATM, Scorpio, Kaos, and Bratt. As Mentallo and Duggan prepared for battle Mentallo signaled the thumbs down before the AOD attacked Duggan. Following the attack Mentallo hit his patent moonsault for the victory. Mentallo then embraced the AOD and celebrated his victory as the AOD celebrated the acquisition of its newest member.
6) Former WWE star Carlito pinned former CWE champion AJ Sanchez. Following the Duggan/Mentallo match which was scheduled to be the last match of the evening after Canadian customs informed CWE Carlito was withheld at the border and not make the show officials had gotten word Carlito had been released and would arrive to the event in an hour. With the event being over AJ Sanchez hit the ring and grabbed the microphone for close to an hour in what will go down as one of the most historic moments in CWE history and kept the packed house of nearly 400 fans in their seat with a variety of tactics and form of entertainment until the much anticipated Carlito arrived to a loud ovation.
CWE returns to Winnipeg with back to back shows on March 3rd and 4th featuring WWE Legend The Honky Tonk Man. Details to be released in the coming days!
