2/25 ASW RESULTS - NEW CHAMPION CROWNED
By Alan Wojcik on 2/26/2011 10:23 AM
On Friday February 25th, ASW Florida held their weekly “Full Throttle” event at Stroker’s Billiards 11236 Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa, FL. Fans were able to meet the original WWE Diva Sunny before the matches.
(1) The World Largest All Nighter’s (Shooter Storm & Joey Knight) won a battle royal. Well sort of, they were the last two in the match and eliminated themselves at the same time.
Also in the match were: “Handsome” Jason Handley, Chad Sexington, Donnie York of the Highwaymen, Josh Rayne of the Misled Youth, Jack Bonza, Ryan Eagles, Roman Wright, Damian Divine & Blaine Rage.
(2) AfroBoy defeated D. Lee of Tha NuYoRicanz.
Lee didn’t wait for Afro to get his pick out of his hair, jumping him with punches and kicks. Lee hit a spinning heel kick for two and locked in a chinlock. Afro fought out of the hold but his sunset flip was blocked as Lee dropped both boots on Afro’s chest. Lee went back to the chinlock but Afro fought put with a back suplex. Afro went on the attack with a sideslam for two followed by a headbutt to Lee’s chest that got the victory.
(3) “Dancing Machine” Bobby Fonta defeated Super Grover.
Fonta was super excited for this one but waited before locking up with Grover who was resoundingly booed by the ASW fans. When the bell did ring, Fonta was the aggressor taking the match to the floor with some brawling. When the match returned to the ring Fonta tagged Grover with more punches. But Fonta dropped too soon on an apparent backdrop and Grover kicked him in the face. Grover went on the attack but he missed his dropkick when Fonta held onto the ropes. Fonta laid in some chops but Grover ducked one and used Fonta’s own ring pants as a slingshot to drive Fonta into the second turnbuckle. Grover took over with some legal and illegal tactics. Fonta fought back but anytime he got on the attack, Grover would deliver a cheap shot. Fonta got enough distance from Grover to recover and attempt to finish off Grover with a superkick. Fonta went for a DDT but Grover held onto the ropes. But he couldn’t avoid it in the middle of the ring and fell to Fonta.
ASW Chain Reaction co-host Sean LaFlash brought out the “Cold Hearted Playa” Danny Demanto & ASW Florida Heavyweight champion Aaron Kanye Epic for an interview segment. Demanto addressed Sunny who was sitting at her autograph table, mocking her age and looks. That got Sunny out of her chair and to the ringside area to the microphone. Sunny told Demanto to back off as she entered the ring. When she did enter the ring she fired insults back at Demanto. Commissioner Don Vinnie saw things go down and didn’t like it. So he told Demanto since he’s dressed, let’s see Demanto in a match. But if he loses, he’s gone from ASW for 30 days.
(4) AfroBoy defeated Danny Demanto (w/Aaron Kanye Epic).
Sunny decided to stay at ringside and manage AfroBoy. Demanto made a mistake and tried to headbutt the Afro. But he recovered when he blocked a sunset flip into a senton for two. Demanto hit a hip toss and followed with an elbow to the jaw. The fans were solidly behind Afro who went for a top rope bodyblock but Demanto countered it into a tilt a whirl into a Samoan Drop for two. Epic got involved, holding Afro so Demanto could knock him out. But Epic’s grip slipped and Demanto decked Epic. This allowed Afro to roll up Demanto and send him packing from ASW for 30 days!!
(5) FXE members “the Emerald Emperor” Simon Sez, Don Maximo & “Real Deal” Mike Cruz defeated Tha NuYoRicanz (Ramos & Rivera w/D. Lee) & Francisco Ciatso.
If you haven’t been to ASW lately, first where the hell have you been?? Second these six men have an absolute hatred of each other. Ciatso was greeted with a “Where’s My Pizza” chant that only infuriated the former NWA Florida Tag Team champion. But Ciatso’s confidence when he locked up with Cruz, quickly left when Sez tagged in. Ciatso made for the corner and tagged out to Ramos. That didn’t matter to the FXE who controlled the match for several minutes, until the NYR were able to isolate Sez from the FXE. With Sez down on the mat, Ciatso didn’t hesitate to jump on Sez. Cruz was able to tag in and defend his team with high energy moves. But Cruz was hit with some cheap shots and was muscled to the other side of the ring where the double and triple teaming ensued. But the former ASW Tag Team champion refused to be pinned and fought off defeat several times. However Ciatso’s ego took over and he went for and missed the Flying Canoli. This allowed Cruz time to tag out to Sez who cleared the ring. As the other four men brawled around ringside, Sez levelled Rivera with the Sez Express to win. But that didn’t stop the action as Ciatso snuck in the ring during the post-show celebration to cheap shot Sez as Cruz and Maximo fought with the NYR. After things settled down Cruz and Sez badmouthed Ciatso for his attack.
The following match was to feature the NWA World Tag Team champions Dark City Fight Club. But only Jon Davis came to ringside to apologize. His partner Kory Chavis was not in attendance due to a death in the family. That didn’t sit well with ASW Florida Tag Team champions the Uprising (“Essential” Eric Cooper & “Infamous” Eddie Taurus) who made their way to ringside. Cooper called the DCFC cowards. That didn’t Davis from saying he would take on both men right now. Davis briefly held his own but he was double teamed. This brought the Highwaymen to help Davis out. The Uprising headed for the exit but Commissioner Don Vinnie said the fans paid for to see a tag team championship match and they were going to get one!
(6) ASW Florida Tag Team champions the Uprising (“Essential” Eric Cooper & “Infamous” Eddie Taurus) defeated the Highwaymen (Butch Long & Marc Mandrake w/Ferrari).
The bell rang and the fighting began around ringside where anything not nailed down was used as a weapon. When the match finally came back to the ring it was the Uprising controlling things, beating down Long for several minutes. Long fought off defeat several times and after countering a suplex by Taurus, he tagged out to Mandrake. But things turned back into a brawl with all four men in the ring. The Highwaymen went for a double team move but Cooper pulled the referee in between to save his own butt. Mandrake had Cooper pinned but no one to count the pin. So Taurus came back to he ring with a chair, knocking down Long and driving Mandrake into it with a sitout slam. When the referee came to, all he saw was Taurus on top for the win. The fighting kept going but Jon Davis came back out to save the Highwaymen while smacking around and eventually chase off the Uprising.
(7) ASW Florida Elite champion “the Great” Kennedy Kendrick (w/Camey Kendrick) defeated “the Realest SOB in Wrestling” Damien Angel.
This match has been in the works for weeks by ASW officials and finally tonight we got to see it happen. Angel came out with his new manager, Sunny who had a heated verbal exchange with Mrs. Kendrick. Once the talking stopped, Angel went right to work attacking Kendrick. The match went to the floor as Camey was talking to Kennedy and Angel jumped him. Back in the ring Angel went for a corner move but Kendrick sidestepped him, sending Angel and his left shoulder into the ringpost. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to see the next move in Kendrick’s arsenal, attack the injury with a fury using submission holds and bar stools at his leisure. Kendrick smelled victory as he was ready for a running kick but instead he was countered into a German suplex. Angel was the first to his feet and went on the attack with punches, clotheslines and kicks. Angel went to end the match with a Spear but the referee was occupied with Camey. Sunny chased off Camey missing the in-ring action, which was Kendrick decking Angel with Camey’s handbag. Not sure what was in it, but it knocked the holy hell out of Angel who was pinned by Kennedy.
(8) In a NO DQ match w/special referee “the Marquee” Bruce Santee, Biff Slater of the FXE became ASW Florida Heavyweight champion when he defeated Aaron Kanye Epic.
If you missed last week’s show, Commission Don Vinnie made this match to try and solve the issues between Epic & Slater. Santee told ASW fans his only involvement would to be count the pinfall. That allowed Slater to take the match to the floor where bartops, stools and anything else could be found were used to beat down Epic. Santee was drinking a beer as the action went on and Slater decided to have a sip. That one second allowed Epic to grab the bell from our timekeeper and slam it into Slater several times. Finally the match came back to the ring where Santee watched Epic deliver several shots to Slater’s head and neck. Epic locked in a body scissor but Slater fought out only to be hit with a low blow by Epic, which was 100% legal. Epic delivered a facewash kick to the corner and followed with a shot to the ribs. Epic went for another kick but Slater got to his feet and hit a drop out slam followed by a mafia kick for two. Epic was near defeat as Santee counted two again. Slater placed Epic on the top buckle only to be hit with a spinebuster for two. Slater went for a move but Epic countered into a move doing more damage to Slater’s neck. Epic went to end the match with a Crossface but Slater grabbed the ropes. Santee said NO DQ and refused to force a break in the hold. With no choices, Slater fought to his feet hitting Epic with a suplex. The three count was coming when Danny Demanto came out and stopped Santee’s count. Santee didn’t like that so he hit Demanto with the Big Dump. Epic went to hit Slater with the championship belt but Santee stopped him. This one second came back to haunt Epic who was hit with another spinebuster and pinned!!! Santee raised Slater’s hand but refused to hand the belt to Slater. Instead he called out Slater to a fight but ASW security hit the ring as well as the entire ASW locker room. But nothing kept Slater and Santee from hooking it up, trading punches to the face for several minutes. Commissioner Don Vinnie called for some order to be restored but even that didn’t slow down Santee and Slater.
