3/5 ASW RESULTS FROM ORLANDO, FL

By Alan Wojcik on 3/6/2011 10:32 AM

ASW Florida debuted in Orlando on March 5, 2011 with the highly anticipated “Best of the Best”. This event was held at the Orlando National Guard Armory, 2809 Ferncreek Avenue.

(1)In a four way ladder match for the ASW Tag Team championships: The NuYoRicanz (Ramos & Rivera w/D. Lee) became champions when they defeated Los Ben Dejos (Marty Con & Ben Dejo), the Latin Assassins of the FXE (“Pretty Boy” Gu$ Money & “Real Deal” Mike Cruz) & Bumz R Us (Milo Beasley & Ray Beez w/Milo Bearsley).
The Assassins won the championships last night in Tampa from the Uprising and were booked into this extremely dangerous matchup. Hopefully I kept up with this because it was all over the place. The NYR jumped the Assassins on the entry ramp and thing were underway. All the other teams followed out but Los Ben Dejos who hit all their opponents with a suicide tope’ followed by a spingboard moonsault. The NYR were the first to grab ladders and head to the ring but the FXE were waiting and dropkicked the ladder into the duo. As the Bums and Ben Dejos brawled on the rampway area the FXE dominated the NYR and went for the belts but the Bumz cut them off and dropped a ladder on Cruz and then hiptossed Money onto the ladder. Los Ben Dejos finally got back to the ring and stopped the Bumz progress with some double team moves. Beasley went to use the ladder as a rampway to the outside but Cruz cut him off, dropped him on the ladder and dumped the ladder to the floor sending Beasley crashing down. Money went for the belts but the NYR tossed him to the floor. Rivera went up but Con dropkicked the ladder out from underneath. Con went up but he was cut off by Beez who went up but Ben Dejo cut him off. Things got dangerous as ladders came crashing down in and around the ring. The FXE placed Ramos behind one and powerbombed Rivera into it then placed one in front of Rivera. Money got sandwiched under one and Dejo used a ladder to drive it into the prone Money. Cruz was placed in a Tree of Woe and Beasley hit a Van Terminator into two ladders placed in front of Cruz’s face. Beasley went for a springboard move but Rivera dropkicked him onto a ladder that was placed on the ring apron and a guard rail. This allowed the NYR to head to the belts but the FXE joined them on the ladders, only to see Con toss both ladders apart. Cruz stopped Los Ben Dejos by himself by jumping from the top turnbuckle onto the ladder. Money got hit with a ladder moonsault by Los Ben Dejos. Beez placed a ladder on two chairs and placed Con on it but Con moved and Beez met ladder and chairs back first. With bodies strewn all about, the FXE laid out the NYR with a double flapjack onto the ladders then took out D. Lee with a slingshot suplex then two top of the ladders moves. Somehow Beasley got off the ground and fought to join Beez on the ladders. But all the other teams stopped them and everyone came off in Tower of Doom landings. When things settled down, Ramos hit Dejo with an Acecrusher off the ladder. Just as the FXE was getting the belts, Don Kiko Cavana, friend of the NYR pulled them off and allowed Rivera to grab the straps crowning new champions. All four teams received a standing ovation from the fans.

A matchup between “1st Generation star” Teigan James and Colby Godwin was taking place when the former ASW Florida Tag Team champions the Uprising (“8th Deadliest Sin” Sideshow, “Essential” Eric Cooper & Infamous” Eddie Taurus) hit the ring and laid out both men. Never one to mince words, Cooper took the house mic and to call out his former friend now hated rival “the Emerald Emperor” Simon Sez & Jay Lethal. The Uprising got what they wanted but hit the bricks when Lethal and Sez hit the ring. Sez took over the mic to berate the Uprising calling them cowards.

(2) The World’s Largest All Nighters (Shooter Storm & Joey Knight) defeated former FIP & AWA World Tag Team champions the Heartbreak Express (“Superstar” Sean & “Fabulous” Phil Davis).
This was the biggest test in the career of the All Nighters but you wouldn’t know they were nervous, as they joked around during the ring instructions. That stopped when the bell rang and the HBX went for a double team, only to be driven into each other. The HBX bailed to the floor to have some alone time before re-entering the ring. Finally storm and Sean Davis locked up and it was obvious Storm was outsized, so he asked Knight to help with a double suplex. But both men got driven away by Sean, only to be hit with a double dropkick to the knees and a double purple nurple. Phil Davis tagged in to give Sean some time to recover, but he didn’t fare batter with the All Nighters. Knight ended up in a criss-cross with Phil but Davis bailed and went under the ring. So the All Nighters did a double bump in the middle of the ring, making Davis’s ears ring in pain. Sean Davis was able to tag back in take over on Knight as Storm was arguing with the referee. The HBX went to work doing what they do best, double teaming and working over Knight’s upper body. But no matter how hard the HBX beat down Knight he refused to be defeated. He was able to crawl over and tag in Storm who held his own against the HBX as Knight recovered. All four men got involved and it was Storm who pinned Phil Davis with a crucifix as Knight held off Sean Davis.

(3) In a Street Fight Rules match, “Suicide Messaish” Marc Mandrake of the Highwaymen (w/Ferrari) defeated “8th Deadliest Sin” Sideshow and Damien Angel.
This match was made weeks ago but Damien Angel was added by ASW Commissioner Don Vinnie last night at ASW Full Throttle. To the shock of no one, this match went all over the Armory. There were some temporary partnerships made between Angel & Mandrake trying to keep Sideshow out of the match. When he did return to the match, Sideshow was hit with an Angel delivered flying head scissor. On the floor, Mandrake found a fork and went to use it on Sideshow but Angel hit both men with a tope’. Mandrake slammed Sideshow with a folding chair shot to the back and got two on the floor. Mandrake hiptossed Sideshow over the guard rail and the real violence began. With the fans running for their lives, Angel joined the fight as the trio used chairs and anything else they could grab as weapons. The fight went to the rampway where Mandrake backdropped Sideshow only to be driven into the ramp by Angel. The match finally came back to the ring where Sideshow went to finish off Angel and Mandrake. Mandrake fell on a ladder that was set up during the brawling and Angel hit him with a frogsplash. With Mandrake out for a moment, Sideshow hit Double Penetration on Angel but Mandrake promptly hit him with a chair shot to the head. Sideshow hit Mandrake with two chair shots but he was hit by Angel’s spear. Mandrake hit Angel with a brainbuster onto the ladder to get the hard fought victory.

Double Deuce Social Club’s Francisco Ciatso and Pete Cannon came out for their scheduled match with TNA superstar Jesse Neal. Cannon & Ciatso called Neal a coward for ducking him the last few months. A video played on the ASW Tron of Neal telling Ciatso he was contractually obligated to a TNA event but he had backup. “Wildcat” Chris Harris came up and told Ciatso he was there to stand up for his friend Neal.

(4) Double Deuce Social Club’s Francisco Ciatso (w/Pete Cannon)defeated former World Tag Team champion “Wildcat” Chris Harris
Ciatso was stunned to see the former TNA superstar in front of him. Ciatso jumped Harris at the bell, using chokes and calling Harris a coward. Harris fought back and hit a standing suplex and an inverted atomic drop. Harris went to the ropes but Cannon tripped him up, allowing Ciatso to attack from behind. Cannon and Ciatso went to work on Harris in front of and behind the referee’s view. Harris fought out of a chinlock only to run into a kneelift from Ciatso. Ciatso went back to the chinlock and again Harris fought to his feet and got a two count on a sunset flip. Harris was hit with a cheap shot and slammed before Ciatso went up. Cannon begged him not to go for the Flying Canoli but Ciatso felt he had it. Turns out he didn’t and it allowed Harris to hit a spinebuster for two. Harris locked in the Scorpion Deathlock, but with the referee down looking for the submission, Cannon entered the ring. Harris saw him and punched Cannon then rolled up Ciatso for two who bailed to the ring apron. Harris went for a suplex back into the ring but Cannon tripped him up, causing Ciatso to fall on Harris for the pin. Did I mention Cannon held onto both of Harris’ legs?

(5) “The Chocolate Rocket” Thomas Marr (w/Robin Donahue) defeated Wayne Van Dykein what seemed record time. After the match ASW Chain Reaction’s Alan Wojcik asked Marr where he had been in recent weeks and was if this was a full time return to ASW. After insulting the fans, Marr told Wojcik he would tell him and ASW when the time was right.

(6) Afro Boy won the Kendrick Elite Battle Royal. By winning, Afro Boy won the right to face ASW Florida Elite champion “the Great” Kennedy Kendick (w/Camey), who watched the match from the rampway with Camey. Also in the match was: “Handsome” Jason Handley, “American Nightmare” John Allen (w/ “Gentleman” Joe Litrell), “Dancing Machine” Bobby Fonta, “Killer” Kyle Blizzard, Butch Long of the Highwaymen, Brian Badical, Josh Rayne, Roman Wright, Daron Drexel (w/Cristina Von Eerie) Don Maximo of the FXE & Prince Sha. With the referee’s involved with a fight between Maximo and others, John Allen snuck in and attacked Fonta allowing Afro Boy the win. Little did Afro Boy know he wasn’t going to have to wait for his title match, it was going to happen right NOW!

(7). ASW Florida Elite champion “the Great” Kennedy Kendick (w/Camey) defeated Afro Boy.
As soon as Afro’s hand was raised, Kendrick attacked from behind. Afro was on the defensive for several moments but he refused to be defeated. After tossing Afro to the ropes, Kendrick dropped too soon and paid when Afro hit a DDT. Afro got on the attack with high impact moves including a sideslam. Afro went up top hitting the Fro Butt for two. Sensing the championship, Afro picked up Kendrick but he was countered into the Crossface submission. Somehow Afro got his foot on the bottom rope. Kendrick didn’t stop going hitting a Rude Awakening and going to a corner but Afro met him with an inverted atomic drop and a Fro Slide into Kendrick’s package. But afro made the mistake of taking his focus off Kennedy and looking toward Camey. That split second allowed Kennedy to hit the mafia kick and end Afro Boy’s title hopes.

(8) ASW Heavyweight champion Biff Slater of the FXE defeated Aaron Kanye Epic.
For no announced reason, “the Marquee” Bruce Santee took himself out of the match making it a battle between Epic & Slater. Once the bell rang, Slater showed off his power by tossing Epic around the ring. Epic grabbed the ring announcer mic telling the fans to stop chanting “Epic Failure” or he was leaving. To no one’s surprise the chant got louder. Epic barely beat the referee’s ten count and came back to face off with Slater. But Epic was hit with a standing suplex that sent him falling out to the floor. Slater followed him out beating on Epic all over ringside. Epic felt he was save in the ring and when Slater rolled back in, Epic pounced on him. Slater reversed a corner whip and went for a splash but Epic tripped him, driving Slater’s head into the turnbuckles. Epic’s confidence grew to well epic proportions with each blow he delivered to Slater, including a shoulder tackle in the corner followed by an Ole kick. Epic went for another kick but Slater got to his feet and attacked. Slater hit a mafia kick for two but Epic hit a Zig Zag for two. Epic went for a facebuster but Slater countered into a spinebuster for the win.

(9) Original TNA Knockout Traci Brooks defeated Christina Von Eerie.
As Brooks was talking to the crowd, Von Eerie jumped her. Von Eerie used every dirty trick in the book on Brooks but nothing stopped Brooks. Brooks chest chopped Von Eerie several times. Von Eerie slid to the floor heading for the exit but Brooks followed. That turned into a mistake as Von Eerie was able to turn the tables on Brooks. The match went back to the ring where Von Eerie locked in a chinlock. Brooks escaped but Von Eerie hit a snap suplex for two. Von Eerie went for a rollup but got two. Von Eerie’s bodyguard grabbed Brooks for Von Eerie to attack but Brooks got away causing a collision. Von Eerie recovered locking a modified sleeper hold. But Brooks refused to submit and backed Von Eerie to a corner causing a break. Brooks went for a corner move but missed as did Von Eerie from the top rope. Brooks got on the attack decking Von Eerie with several bodyshots. Von Eerie’s bodyguard got involved again and he paid when Brooks hit a drop toe hold driving Von Eerie’s head into the crotch of her male companion. All Brooks needed to do was get the three count.

(10) TNA superstar Jay Lethal & “Emerald Emperor” Simon Sez defeated the Uprising (“Essential” Eric Cooper & Infamous” Eddie Taurus). As a result of the loss, Eric Cooper’s career in ASW is over.
This match has been building for weeks at ASW Full Throttle events at Stroker’s Billards so the electricity was definitely in the air. Once the referee was able to get some decorum, Cooper and Sez locked up. Actually Cooper side stepped Sez and tagged out to Taurus. After some rope running, Sez hit a Thesz Press and then Taurus with several punches. Sez tagged out to Lethal and Cooper immediately tagged in to face his former training partner now rival. After Lethal gave a “Nature Boy” like strut, the match began again with Lethal taking over on both members of the Uprising and Sez joining in to embarrass their opponents. Lethal hit a between the ropes spear onto Taurus and Sez followed with his own death defying top rope move onto Cooper. Things looked good for Sez and Lethal that was until Sez went for the Sez Express and Cooper kicked him square in the back. This moment allowed the Uprising to take over on Sez for several moments. Sez held off defeat and tagged out to Lethal who was tripped and brought to the floor by Taurus. Sez had Cooper pinned when Taurus broke it up. Cooper laid out Lethal with a spinebuster leaving all four men struggling to their feet. Taurus hit Lethal with a powerslam and went up top but Lethal flipped to his feet and hit a drop out TKO. This allowed Cooper to be hit with a double team move by Sez and Lethal. After the bell Sez told the fans tonight was the biggest night of his career.
