East TN’s Championship Wrestling Alliance (www.championshipwrestlingtv.com) has joined the National Wrestling Alliance and will now be known as NWA Smoky Mountain… CWA Commissioner Robbie Cassidy made the announcement at last night’s Championship Wrestling TV Taping in Gray, TN.
The Championship Wrestling Alliance, based in the Tri-Cities area of Northeast TN, has presented top quality wrestling events for the last 7 years. Their television show, Championship Wrestling TV has aired consecutively in their home market for over 6 years. The show’s current timeslot is at Noon on Saturdays on Tri-Cities CW 4. The show is posted online at ChampionshipWrestlingTV.com every week and has been available in the past in national syndication via AMG-TV. The newly rechristened NWA Smoky Mountain will continue to tape television every Thursday Night in Morristown, TN at the National Guard Armory in addition to house shows throughout East TN.

April 15 results from the Soddy Daisy Middle School with attendance of 300+.
1) Micah Hughes defeated Andrew Alexander via pinfall to earn his first big victory
thanks to a distraction by Ace Rockwell. Pre match, ring announcer Scott Hensley
announced that Alexander was fined $1500 by the NWA for his attack on Rockwell, but
no action could be taken against him for piledriving Rockwell's father on 3/18 since
he was technically a fan crossing the barricade to attack a wrestler. It was announced
that Rockwell had been given the night off, as the NWA felt it would be an unsafe work
environment for Ace to be there in his current state of mental anguish over his Dad's
injury. Hughes looked good in the match, but the experience of Alexander took over
and he had the rookie defeated when Rockwell came in through the front door after
purchasing a ticket. Rockwell himself tried to hit the ring, but was stopped by security.
Alexander got too cocky, and tried to piledrive Hughes (who is Rockwell's protege)
while he mocked the events of 3/18 as Rockwell was being restrained. This was all
Hughes needed to hit a double leg takedown into a rolling cradle for the upset victory
of the year in Chattanooga.
- Rockwell and Alexander both had to be removed by security as Scott Hensley
announced that the match had been signed as part two of our double main event for
our first supercard, NWA Slamfest on June 24th at Soddy Daisy Middle School. (We
already know Tank will defend the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship against
the winner of our semi main event tonight). And on May 20th, at Fan Appreciation
Night (All seats $5!) Rockwell and Alexander will meet in a verbal showdown,
surrounded by security. They'll be able to tell the world and each other exactly how
they feel, and it is here that we'll determine what stipulation the Slamfest match will
be held under.
2) Dru Delight & Matt Fortune defeated Aaron Epic and Blaine Rage -
Epic & Rage come to us from Tampa, FL and had an impressive debut here in
Chattanooga, but Delight and Fortune who entered this match with a whole new air of
confidence about themselves managed to sneak away a big victory.
3) Seven (with The Rev) defeated Corey Hollis via pinfall - what an incredible David vs.
Goliath style match, Corey Hollis threw everything he had at the monster, and left it all
in the ring as these two beat the tar out of each other for 12 minutes. For anyone
who's been following Seven's career this may have been his best singles match yet.
Hollis defied all convention by locking Seven in the Crossface and taking the 300
pounder to the mat. Seven held on for dear life and came closer to tapping out than
anyone thought possible but summoned a meta human feat of strength by powering
out of the Crossface WHILE HOLLIS STILL HAD THE HOLD APPLIED. Seven reached
a vertical base, and Hollis still had it locked. Seven broke the hold, spun Hollis
around into the powerbomb and picked up the 1,2,3.
4) Shaun Tempers' Temptation for Men launch party (this will be up on youtube this
week, so we'll link the video here rather than going into a lengthy description).
Tempers celebrated the launch of his fragrance "Temptation for Men" in stores and
explained what being the Temptation was all about. He stated that every great
success has a great team behind it, and then introduced us to his new stable "Team
Temptation". Matt Fortune, a man Tempers says he sees great potential in and is
mentoring towards greatness, Dru Delight, a man Tempers says is a trusted veteran
who's always been there to advise Tempers in his career and a guy who can get the
job done, and the maverick, one of the cockiest, flashiest, decorated men in
independent wrestling Chrisjen Hayme.
5) Patrick Bentley defeated Chrisjen Hayme via pinfall after a sunset flip off the top
rope. Fast paced, hard hitting, incredibly exciting bout. It was anyone's match when
Bentley suprised Hayme for the pinfall. After the match Team Temptation already
made their presence known by attacking Bentley and spraying him head to toe in
"Temptation for Men", the blinded Bentley crawled his way back to the locker room
seeking revenge.
6) Jimmy Rave defeated Kyle Matthews to earn the bout against Tank for the
Southeastern Championship at NWA Slamfest on 06/24/11 in a bout I personally
overheard one elderly fan call the greatest match they'd ever seen in 50 years of being
a wrestling fan. And honestly in 25 years of being a wrestling fan I find it hard to
disagree. Kyle Matthews is one of the toughest human beings walking the planet.
Around 11 minutes into the bout Rave hit Matthews with an STO on the ring apron.
The back of Matthews' head hit right on the corner of the ring and split open like a
melon and the back of the man's head was pouring blood for the remainder of the
match, but Kyle went another 10 plus minutes giving everything he had. In the end,
you have to think the injury was the difference maker, but so many other athletes
would've just taken the easy way out. Kyle Matthews is no ordinary man, that's why we
call him the technical machine, and his late, great, mentor "The Nightmare" Ted Allen
has to be looking down on him with as much pride as possible. Amazing, amazing
match.
7) The Dark City Fight Club (Jon Davis & Kory Chavis) defeated The Hellbillies
(Jessco Blue & Nick Young) to retain the NWA World Tag Team Championship. The
underdog, hometown favorites fought the hardest they ever have but couldn't defeat
the much more experienced World champs. Heck of a match though. The Hellbillies
surprised alot of people with this outing. Dark City brought their A game, and gave the
Hellbillies a beating they'll wear for a week or two, but the Billies gave one right back.
After the match Dark City stated that they'd been all over the world and faced the best
tag teams in the sport....and when it came to toughness, they'd put the Hellbillies right
there with any team in the world. Very classy move by the Champions, which earned
them the respect of the Chattanooga fans.
The night wasn't just quite over yet. Soddy Daisy Middle School principal Tobin
Davidson came to ringside to thank the fans for their support and tell everyone how
proud he was of two Soddy Daisy boys who chased their dreams and just went toe to
toe with the World Heavyweight Champions. He said Soddy boys weren't ones to
whine and cry, but he sure would've liked to see how that match would've gone if the
Hate Junkies hadn't attacked the Billies backstage giving Blue a concussion and
Young broken ribs, earning themselves and manager Jeff G. Bailey a 30 day
suspension. So Davidson said he was the bearer of good news and that The Billies
will get the chance to get a little payback. On May 20th, in the main event of Fan
Appreciation Night it will be a 6 Man Tag Team Match....with The Hate Junkies AND
MANAGER JEFF G BAILEY vs. The Hellbillies and PRINCIPAL TOBIN DAVIDSON!!!

“We’re getting the band back together…………………..”
This famous line from the Blues Brothers Movie might be the tag line for the upcoming pro wrestling show called WrestleZania, which will take place at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Manahawkin, NJ on Saturday, April 30th.
The original band was made up of wrestlers who comprised some of the more prolific indy wrestling groups in the Jersey Shore area. One of them was the WWC, who ran many shows in the southern Ocean County area, and the other was the EWA, who ran just north, in upper Ocean and Monmouth Counties.
The catalyst for this show is none other than “The Green Dragon” Jason Pharo, who runs his own dojo called Green Dragon Warrior Arts. In his younger days, Pharo worked for BOTH of those wrestling organizations, and when MONSIGNOR KEN TUZENEU approached him about a fundraising opportunity for a cause called Family Promise, a charity thats helps support, feed, and shelter homeless and displaced families, Pharo began to call all of his friends in the pro wrestling business, and asked them to work for this very worthwhile group.
Many of the stars of both the EWA and WWC are returning for this one night, and other wrestlers form organizations throughout New Jersey are stepping up to the plate to provide some exciting sports entertainment that evening.. The National Wrestling Alliance, the oldest and most respected pro wrestling organization in the US, has gotten behind this event, and will be providing support to NWA Coastal, the promotion formed to run this show.
Some of the stars who will be appearing that evening include Pharo, F1 star Johnny Calzone, NWA senior referee Fred Richards, managers Jaden, and Millionaire John II, Vicious Vin Delicious, Savage Payne, Hyena, J.C, Rage, indy star Jason Gotti, Vicious Ronster, Johnny Fearless, The Ninja Saint, Crazy Daisy, Luscious LaRon, Johnny X, Sgt. Mayhem, Tommy Force, Archadia, ECW original Iron Man Tommy Cairo, The Sensational One, Mighty Moe, Cletus, Geoff Bravo, Jimmy Clydesdale, ring announcer Phil Varlese, and a special return to the Jersey Shore after a 10 year absence, the very popular Wacky Wayne Woo!
Also making a special appearance are the students from the Green Dragon Warrior Arts Dojo.
