Tribute to the Fairgrounds announced a return to the Tennessee Fairgrounds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Tribute to the Fairgrounds 2: Tag Team Warfare.
With the success of the January show, Southern Wrestling will be returning to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Having over 1,700 fans packed into the Nashville Sports Arena, the fans saw history in the making with Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee. This May, wrestling will return with Tag Team Warfare to end another long-standing wrestling feud.
The feud between the Rock-n-Roll Express (Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton) and the Midnight Express (Dennis Condry and “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) has spanned across this country and into other continents, only to be settled at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 14, 2011. The blood spilled between these four men has kept their feud boiling for over a decade. It is time to see who will be the dominant legendary tag team.
After the end of the main event in January, wrestling icon “Dirty” Dutch Mantell has an important announcement for the fans. This announcement will shock the wrestling world!
In a special tag team challenge match, “Dangerous” Doug Gilbert and “Wildfire” Tommy Rich will tag up to face off against Wolfie D and former WWE/TNA Superstar and member of Degeneration X, Road Dog BG James.
Former WWE Superstar Brian Christopher and Kevin White will be returning for tag team action to face off against Southern Comfort’s Tracy Smothers and Chris Hamerick.
The Southern Heavyweight Champion Hammerjack will be in championship action against "The King" Shane Williams.
In a special challenge match, former WWE/ECW Superstar Simon Dean will face off against former WWE/WCW/ECW/TNA Superstar Jerry Lynn.
In a return tag match, The Diamonds in the Rough (former TNA Superstar David Young and Sigmon) will face off against the Maddox Brothers. This match was one of the crowd pleasers in January. But one stipulation has been announced, the Goddess Athena has been banned from ringside.
Gallatin, Tennessee’s own Arrick “The Dragon” Andrews will be in singles action facing off against Jocephus.
For the VIP ticket holders, a special pre-show series of matches, along with an autograph signing, has been arranged.
The pre-show matches include the following:
In women’s action, Abriella of Amazonia will face former TNA Superstar and IWA Queen of the Death Match Mickie Knuckles.
A Wrestling seminar match will take place.
The top four students from the pre-seminar will face off in a four corners match.
Plus, “The King” Shane Williams, David Matthews and more are scheduled for appearance!
