UPDATES ON C4 IN CANADA

By Mike Johnson on 5/24/2011 1:28 PM

Epic ending to a record breaking season!  4 Main Events!  The American Wolves come to Canada! Brothers Collide!

Saturday June 17th marks the end of the fourth season of action for C*4 – and what a season it has been.

Record breaking attendance…

Major international talents…

Break out performances…

Heated feuds…
The best action Ottawa and Eastern Ontario has ever seen.

At “Crossing the Line 4”, we hope to present a show which will see all of the above trends continue.

In less than a month, C*4 presents perhaps its biggest event ever, “Crossing the Line 4”.

As anybody who has been following C*4 this season knows, three huge matches are already set.

First a collision between two men who are perhaps Canada’s best known tag team on the independent scene – as the Super Smash Brothers go head to head!

Having won the C*4 Championship last June at “Crossing the Line 3”, “Player Dos”, Stupefied has spent the entire year attempting to prove himself.  Prove himself to fans, that he belongs at the top of the C*4 mountain.  Prove himself to management, that he belongs as the face of C*4.  Prove to his opponents and the entire locker room that he is the best among them.

On March 26th, Player Uno won a six way elimination match to claim his spot as the next challenger to the C*4 Championship.  Following Stupefied’s victory over former Champion Kevin Steen, Uno made his intentions clear to his partner.  Uno challenged Stupefied to face him for the championship at CTL4.

At “Crossing the Line 4” the two brothers will face off – with the ultimate prize in C*4 on the line.  Will Uno capture a title for which has been twice been pinned to lose, yet never held himself, and never had an opportunity to have a singles match challenge for it?   Or will Stupefied prove himself to everybody, including his best friend – and finally stand on top of C*4 as its undisputed leader?

Last month at “Domination 2K11”, C*4 fans watched in shock as the Tag Team Championship changed hands from “MVP” Michael Von Payton and “Ronin” Josh Alexander to “Mr. Wrestling” Kevin Steen and “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

Shocking due to the fact that Steen and Bailey have had one of the biggest rivalries in C*4 history, which has taken course over the last season.

Following the win, Steen told Bailey that once again, Bailey failed to “prove himself”, due to the fact that it was in fact Steen picking up the pinfall.  In a time of celebration, Steen took the moment to gloat over his young partner.   Steen however told Bailey that if he really wanted to “prove himself”, that they needed to face off with undoubtedly the most respected tag team in all of wrestling – the combination of “The American Wolves”, Davey Richards, and Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Edwards.

The match is made – and will be one nobody will want to miss.

Called “The Best in the World’ for the last several years, Richards brings a smash mouth style to the ring, never seen before in C*4.  He along with the ROH World Champion, Eddie Edwards has dominated competition, wherever they team.   Furthermore, holding one of the most prestigious championships in all of professional wrestling, Edwards, no doubt looks to add two more fallen opponents in his wake.

Kevin Steen and Mike Bailey will collide with Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards… June 17th… Ottawa, get ready.

On March 26th, “Textbook” Tyson Dux shortcut his way to victory over “Canadian Crazyhorse” Michael Elgin in what could have been one of the best matches in C*4 history.    Following the loss, Elgin challenged his once mentor and teacher to a rematch… Dux scoffed at the idea and instead told Elgin that he needed to prove himself before getting another match with him.

On April 30th, at “Domination 2K11”, Elgin’s opponent of Dux’s choice, “Big Rig” Brodie Lee – an opponent that Elgin knew well, based on their 2010 match of the year winning confrontation.

Proving himself, Elgin defeated Brodie Lee in a hellacious brawl between two hard hitters.  Elgin overcame the bigger Brodie Lee, in a match that topped their June 2010 encounter.

With that win, Elgin locked himself into a match against Tyson Dux for June 17th, 2011.  Will Elgin receive the opportunity he so dearly wants, to defeat his once mentor?  Or Will Dux find another way to outsmart his way to victory?

Finally today, we have one more exciting main event match to announce… a feud which has a long history and will see another chapter written on June 17th – perhaps its last.

The history of Twiggy and MVP has been well documented, and that rivalry has mutated to an intense hatred between MVP and his partners, Josh Alexander and Rahim Ali and The Wolfmun, Twiggy and Beef Wellington.

Twiggy and Beef were cheated twice out of being the Tag Team Champions, by the dastardly ways of the NBA.  Even more fuel had been added to this rivalry over the injuries sustained by Twiggy and Beef on March 26th, due to the post-match assault given to them by the NBA.  Twiggy suffered deep bruising to his orbital bone, while Beef suffered an aggravated ACL related injury.

On May 7th, Twiggy returned to action with a vengeance.  Following his match with Rahim Ali, Twiggy attempted to claim “an eye for an eye” – and assaulted Ali with his fists, teeth, and a screwdriver.  Twiggy was eventually pulled off Ali, and later attacked MVP during Payton’s match with Mike Bailey and Frankie the Mobster.

On June 17th, The Wolfmun and the NBA will face off in a Six Man Tag Team Match.  The Wolfmun have promised a partner as “wild as they are”, and C*4 management is still debating possible stipulations on this match.  More to come as it develops…
