127 pro wrestling fans took time from their holiday weekend to attend the NWA Coastal show "Honor Roll" at Barnegat High School. An energy packed card kept everyone in the building for the entire show.
In the opening match of up and coming stars, Alex Payne defeated one half of the Monster Squad, Anthony Graves.
The finals for the NWA Coastal "Iron Man" Championship were up next. The two finalists, Johnny Fearless and "Il Capo" Jason Gotti (along with manager Millionaire John II) seemed surprised when Commissioner Tommy Cairo hit the ring. Cairo explained to the fans that a title belt that has his "Iron Man" name attached to it has to be among the biggest and baddest. He indicated that he saw a young talent at a recent indy show, and was turning the match into a 3 way for the belt! The music hit, and out came The Monster AHTU! Though both Gotti and Fearless did their best to double team the monster, he was able to pin not one, but BOTH of his opponents to win the title, and become the first Iron Man Champion.
Next up was a tag match between "Luscious Money" (Luscious LaRon and Dirty Money), who squared off against up and coming tag team The Midnight Sensations. In a match filled with high spots, The Sensations got the win.
In a "Flag on a Pole" match, Sergeant Dan Gleason was victorious over the "Syrian Renegade" Modar Assad. After the match, Assad along with his manager Jaden attacked Gleason.
After an intermission that brought out almost all of the wrestlers to interact with the fans, the second half of the show started, and fans watched as the very tough Kacee Carlisle bested Coastal newcomer Kimber Lee.
Wacky Wayne Woo made his OFFICIAL return to pro wrestling that night. Fans in the area hadn't seen Woo in over 10 years, and his debut was successful, as he defeated Vicious Vin Ceres in a barrage of gimmicks including silly string! After the match, Woo was attacked by not only Vin, but by Jason Gotti and Millionaire John II, who officially announced that Gotti and Ceres were the latest members of his newly formed "Boardwalk Mafia". The new Iron Man Champion, Ahtu, made the save on Woo.
The main event was scheduled to be a Dog Collar, taped fist chain match between ECW Original Axl Rotten, and NWA National Champion Chance Prophet. Prophet was introduced, and he asked the crowd if they were ready for the chair swingin', rough and tough, former ECW tag champion Axl Rotten! The fans chanted yes, and Prophet let the crowd know that Axl was NOT in the building, and said it was because he was afraid to be in a match with him. That said, because Prophet had traveled over 9 and a half hours to defend his title, he said he'd give anyone in the building the opportunity of a lifetime to wrestle him for the belt. After about a minute of silence, music hit, and out came Force 1 star Johnny Calzone! The two competitors were attached to the chain, and a hard fought battle ensued between the two. At one point Calzone was hung by the chain over the ropes, and eventually passed out from a choke, giving Prophet the win. Prophet called out current NWA Heavyweight Champion The Sheik, and told him to get ready, as he was coming to take that belt as well.
