RICKY LANDELL RETURNING TO WORLD-1 WRESTLING

By Mike Johnson on 6/3/2011 7:55 AM

Two and a half years.

I has been two and a half years since anyone in WORLD-1 has spoken to Ricky Landell.

It has been two and a half years since anyone in Pro Wrestling has spoken to Ricky Landell.

It was December of 2008 when Ricky Landell along with his best friend, and trainer Steve Corino were on an overseas tour of Japan. The releationship had been tense for months prior with everyone close to them feeling the strain. Both men would return to the United States, and never speak to one another again.

There was no argument. There was no fight. The friendship just imploded. People and promotions were forced to make decisions since neither would attend a show the other was booked on.

During this time, Ricky Landell grew increasingly bitter, towards Corino, and towards the sport. Then one day, without warning, without a final match Landell left. He deleted his website, his MySpace, his FaceBook, emails sent to him returned back with an error. Calls placed to him gave a wrong number message.

Landell just left.

Whenever Corino was asked about Landell, he always told his side of the story and then quickly changed the subject. No one to date has been able to really get a grasp on how it affected Corino. Mike Kehner, close friends of both individuals said, “I think it hurt Steve to be honest. I know he doesn’t want me to say that, but he spent a lot of time with Landell. They were really close and I’m not sure either of them really know what happened.”

Two and a half years later Landell walked into the WORLD-1 ring. The first time he has stepped foot in a pro wrestling ring in 30 months. In the ring stood Mike Kehner and Colby Corino, Steve’s son.

“I actually wanted to hear what he had to say. I was kind of hoping he would bury the hatchet with my dad,” Colby Corino said.

The next few moments were a shock to everyone backstage and everyone in the crowd. Steve Corino tried his best to get the show to move on afterwards, but was clearly not with it after the incident.

Here now for the first time is the video of the night Ricky Landell returned to Pro Wrestling.

We had not spoken to Ricky Landell prior to this incident, nor have we spoke to him since. He will be there on June 12th, and so will Steve Corino. What will happen at that show is anyone’s guess.

What is next for Reiko DMF?

Reiko DMF has been aligned with Richard P Guille since day one. Any success he has had in the sport has always been attributed to Guille, whether that is accurate or not.

On May 22nd, Richard P Guille, along with the rest of Team Symbol kicked DMF out of their “club.”

Guille has since remarked:

Look, it’s simple…everyone in Team Symbol has pulled their own weight, except Reiko. We have been stuck carrying him for years and enough is enough. I’ve gotten him so many title shots and he has never come through. Not once. As far as I’m concerned it’s no longer Team Symbol. Chris Rockwell and Sam Shields should simply be known as the Midnight Sensations going forward since those two WERE Team Symbol. How long can they go on carrying people like DMF or Tommy Thunda?

After refusing to attack GPS, Super Sweet and Milo Shizo after his match last week, DMF then helped those guys up in a show of respect. Is this a new side of Reiko DMF?
