Funk U - June 5, 2011 (Syracuse, NY)

2CW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Challenger, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards vs 2CW Heavyweight Champion "Slyck" Wagner Brown
Two heavyweight champions facing off one on one for the top prize in pro wrestling, the 2CW championship, will see Ring of Honor heavyweight champion, Eddie Edwards, square off against current 2CW champion, “Slyck” Wagner Brown. Very few men in any part of the world are on a better roll than the ROH champ, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards. Eddie looks to continue his reign of dominance by winning the 2CW’s top prize. If Eddie could defeat SWB and walk away from Syracuse with the two biggest singles titles in the entire wrestling world, who could say he isn’t the very best in the world today? No one. The list of championships held by “Die Hard” is indeed a very long list, including a very good reign as one-half of the 2CW tag team champions. However, SWB is certainly no push over. If there was one person in 2CW that could put Eddie away and put a stop to his tremendous momentum, it would be our champion, Slyck Wagner Brown. Just take a moment to think back to November and our debut in Elmira. Do you remember who the original challenger for the 2CW title was that night? Eddie Edwards was, but an injury prevented him from challenging Brodie Lee that evening. SWB saw the opportunity, and took the title for himself that evening. Now, almost eight months later, these two hook up for that very title. Also remember, that SWB has defended that title at every show since that night in November, including against Eddie’s tag team championship partner, Davey Richards. This is certainly a dream match for many people, and it WILL happen in Syracuse. We will find out who is the more dominant champion in all of wrestling…June 5th here at FUNK U!

2CW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Challengers, 3.0 (Shane Matthews & Scott Parker) vs Champions, The Olsen Twins (Jimmy & Colin Olsen)
3.0’s debut in 2CW comes in the form of challengers for the tag team titles. They maybe unfamiliar with some of you reading this, however, The Olsen’s are not strangers to this tag team, as they have faced off with them in other promotions around the Northeast, specifically Chikara Pro. They will prove to be a great challenge to the tag team champs. 3.0 can match any verbal attack the champions may try to execute. The in-ring ability is there as well. The key to this match for 3.0 could be the fact that this is their debut in Syracuse, for 2CW. The 2CW faithful is very much like the old ECW fans in which they are very tough to perform in front of. This is not like the PG environment that a Chikara Pro event is. This is rated R to say the very least. This could be the big difference in this match. But don’t count out The Olsen’s by any means. They are not the champions by mistake. They might use “questionable” tactics to gain the advantage and victories, but they are experienced and no one has been able to take those titles away yet. They are also very familiar with you…the 2CW faithful. They know what to expect from the fans, and that could also prove to be the key to victory against 3.0 and retain their titles.

Fan’s Choice: Stairway to Hell
Special Guest Enforcer: Terry Funk
"Juggernaut" Jason Axe vs Jay Freddie
The final match. The final stipulation. The end of an amazing feud happens in the Stairway to Hell. You, the fans of 2CW, voted on this stipulation on www.2CW.com. We all thought this was to be settled in Watertown at Living on the Edge, but no such luck. “Juggernaut” Jason Axe was up to his tricks again and was able to defeat Freddie with questionable means. Sure, it was a cage match, with no disqualifications, no count-outs. However, there was the interference from Portia Perez. The use of the handcuffs, which left a bad taste in the fans mouth, was just a way for Jason to say “F-U’ to Freddie and the fans. Well, know we come to Syracuse, with special guest enforcer, Terry Funk watching over this match, it’s time for Freddie, the fans, and maybe even the Funker himself to say “FUNK U!” to the “Juggernaut.” The fans got their say; they chose the stipulation of the match. A match rarely seen ever in professional wrestling, the Stairway to Hell, is a ladder match but the prize is no title, or briefcase. The prize at the end of the climb is barbed wire! The wrestler to grab the wire gets to use the wire. It’s quite simple, but very disturbing at the same time. We all know what has happened in the past with these two men. Jason actually hung Freddie right in Syracuse, in the middle of the ring, at Nightmare Before Christmas. What could possibly be going through the minds of these two athletes in preparing for this brutal contest? They have brawled all over the 2CW landscape, in many different matches and stipulations. But this is it, there will be no rematches, no more chances to finish the story between these two rising stars on the 2CW roster. There will be no interference either, Terry Funk will see to that. Anyone, including Portia Perez, will be taught a hardcore lesson in respect if they try to interfere in this one. At the end of the night there will be only one winner…one victor…one survivor! The other will be FUNK’D!

Isys Ephex vs Tommaso Ciampa
"Muscle" Marcos vs Matt Taven
The stipulation is that if Isys Ephex can defeat Tommaso Ciampa, he will get his rematch with “Muscle” Marcos in July at The Big Event. Marcos got the controversial win in April at Living on the Edge VI (which is available at the merchandise stand in DVD format) during the MMA rules contest via officials decision. Isys seemingly had the match won at every turn, but the officials at ringside saw it differently. Isys wants one more shot at Marcos, so the gauntlet was thrown down, defeat Ciampa in Syracuse, and earn the rematch in Watertown. However, Marcos doesn’t get a night off. He will depend on the debuting Tommaso Ciampa to defeat Isys Ephex, while he is scheduled to face popular young new comer, Matt Taven. Matt has been impressive in his previous matches here in 2CW, and he looks to add more momentum to his successful run with a big win in Syracuse over a tough “Muscle” Marcos. Marcos needs to pick up the win here to continue his success and ride that big wave of momentum in what could possibly turn into a rematch against Isys in July. If Isys is unsuccessful, who knows what could lie ahead for the “Muscle of 2CW”? A big night is ahead for all of these 2CW wrestlers, with each man looking forward to big things in the coming months.

Portia Perez vs Alexxis Nevaeh
This match will be seeing a returning Alexxis Nevaeh to 2CW. The former Lexxus will be taking on 2CW mainstay and girlfriend to “Juggernaut” Jason Axe, Portia Perez. This will be the first time these two face each other in a 2CW ring. Alexxis previously feuded with Nikki Roxx while she was in 2CW in ’07-’08. But now she is back and looking to prove she belongs by defeating Portia. With everything that is going on with Portia Perez, this could be a rude awakening for the Canadian Ninja. She has to worry about her boyfriend, Jason Axe, and his Stairway to Hell match on this night. She is also going to be focused on her upcoming rematch with Sara Del Ray and the appearance of Sunny at The Big Event. As she has previously shown in recent matches, if Portia gets distracted, she is that much easier to defeat. This could prove to be a major obstacle in her battle with Alexxis Nevaeh. Ms. Perez can not afford to be distracted against such a great athlete as Alexxis. Will Portia be able to overcome all the distractions and defeat this returning threat, or will Alexxis make more problems for the Ninja?

Plus, First Class will be in attendance as well!
