Awesome Wrestling Entertainment has made big news of late with its announcement that its Oct. 15 Awesome Night of the Legends show will be broadcast live on pay-per-view on InDemand, DirecTV, AGTV and Bell TV.

But the attention of AWE and its fans in the here and now is on its Awesome Night of the Superstars show in Woodstock, Va., this Saturday night, Sept. 17.

The wrestling world is abuzz over the announcement that "Big Sexy" Kevin Nash, who has been involved in an ongoing controversy in WWE with WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple-H and former WWE Champion CM Punk, will be in the main event of the AWE Awesome Night of the Legends show in October.

Nash will also be in Woodstock on Saturday night to formally sign the contract for the main-event match pitting Nash and AWE CEO Marvin Ward against The Rock-n-Roll Express.

Also appearing in Woodstock will be former WCW World Champion "Diamond" Dallas Page, WWE Hall of Famer "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, former WWE U.S. Champ and WCW TV Champ Dave "Fit" Finlay, former ECW TV Champ CW Anderson and former NWA U.S. Champ Tully Blanchard.

Gore! Gore! Gore! Rhino added to Legends lineup

Awesome Wrestling Entertainment announced today that Rhino has signed with the company and has been added to the card for the AWE Awesome Night of the Legends pay-per-view.

Rhino is a former ECW and TNA World Heavyweight Champion who also won titles in WCW and WWE.

A 17-year ring veteran, "The War Machine" has been in the ring with some of the top names in the business, including Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Sabu, Jeff Hardy and Christian.

'The Franchise' Shane Douglas signed for Legends show

The first ECW World Heavyweight Champion also happened to be the last in a long line of NWA World Heavyweight Champions. And that man, Shane Douglas, "The Franchise," is on his way to Awesome Wrestling Entertainment.

AWE announced today that it has signed Douglas for the AWE Awesome Night of the Legends pay-per-view.

A four-time ECW World Champ, Douglas was a key player during the heyday of the Philadelphia-based promotion, and was ranked as high as #20 on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated PWI 500 in 1996.

Douglas also had reigns as WWE Intercontinental Champ and WCW United States Champ and is a two-time former WCW World Tag Team Champion.

　

Saturn signed for Night of Legends

Former WCW World TV Champ and former WWE European Champ Perry Saturn wil make his in-ring return to professional wrestling at the AWE Awesome Night of the Legends pay-per-view.

Saturn has been out of wrestling since being sidelined by a 2002 ACL injury.

He had a brief but significant run at the top of the mat game that included stints in ECW, WCW and WWE. He is perhaps best remembered for his jump from WCW to WWE in 2000 with Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko as The Radicalz.
