Strikeforce fighter King Mo Lawal has been suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after a drug test returned positive for the anabolic steroid Drostanalon, which is used to maintain muscle while cutting weight.
Lawal is denying he used any substances. He will have the right to protest the suspension. Should he fail to get the suspension overturned, Lawal will be prohibited for fighting for up to one year, be subject to a fine and his most recent Strikeforce fight, a second round KO of Lorenzo Larkin, will be officially ruled a no contest.
Mo had defeated Larkin at the 1/7 Strikeforce event in Las Vegas. He was among a group of fighters who were submitted to a random drug test and was the only one to fail.
