The current NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, “The Modern Day Hero†Kevin Douglas, has been showing that he is capable of carrying on the tradition of the men before him. Having held the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title since October 2011, Douglas has taken on all comers from all over the world.
This weekend, Douglas will be heading to face off against one of NWA Top Rope’s top talent in their NWA Tennessee Junior Heavyweight Champion Derek Neal.
Neal, who regained the championship on Saturday, January 28, 2012, from “Impressive†Anthony Wayne gave it a solid hour in an iron man match. The match, in this writer’s opinion, was one of the best of the year so far. Now that Neal has gold back in his grasp, he will be looking to add to his collection when “The Modern Day Hero†Kevin Douglas heads to Lebanon, Tennessee, this weekend at NWA Top Rope.
When asked about coming to Lebanon this weekend, Douglas released the following:
"To be a Champion is to accept all challenges that lie before you. The talent at NWA Top Rope is second to none, seen by my own eyes when some of their best came to NWA Houston. A Title Defense against an opponent the caliber of Derek Neal will present the most formidable of challenges. I look forward to Glorious Battle in Lebanon, Tennessee, Saturday Night February 4th!!!â€
This Saturday night, Douglas will be putting the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship up against Derek Neal. Will Neal finally have a matched set of titles or will Douglas head back to Texas with both belts?
“Boogie Woogie Boy†Gary Valiant will be in action against Big Bully Douglas. After last week’s maylay around Corsica Joe Arena, the duo will be facing off in a taped fist match.
The NWA Tennessee Heavyweight Championship will also be on the line when Hammerjack defends his title against Kevin Dunn. Arrick “The Dragon†Andrews will be in singles action facing off against Vic The Bruiser.
Kevin Jones showed his true colors to the fans of NWA Top Rope last week and brutally attached Psycho Medic. This week, Medic will be bringing backup with “Impressive†Anthony Wayne at ringside.
The trainees will also be in action when Johnny Pavement will be facing off against Kerry Awful.

NWA Top Rope is 220 East High Street in Lebanon, Tennessee. Doors open at 6:30p.m. with bell time at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for all seats.
