Current top contender to the UFC Heavyweight Title, Alistair Overeem, has been charged with one count of misdemeanor battery after an incident in a Las Vegas casino. According to reports, Overeem will be appearing in court on February 21st with potential penalties ranging from a $1,000 fine to six months in prison. Following his UFC 141 appearance, Overeem apparently shoved a woman and caused her to stumble backwards.
Alistair Overeem’s attorney has advised his client not to comment on the issue and it looks like we will not be hearing from him on the topic. As of now, the UFC Heavyweight Title fight between champion Junior Dos Santos and Alistair Overeem has yet to be officially announced.
