A trio of bouts featuring UFC veterans will headline the debut event for Worldwide MMA next month.
The promotion has tapped UFC veterans Karo Parisyan and Dave Menne to meet in a welterweight contest, as well as Lyle Beerbohm to go head to head with Jamie Varner in an intriguing match. Also added is Drew Fickett taking on Kevin Knabjian.
Menne (45-16-2), a 15 year veteran of the sport, most recently competed at UWF 1 where he submitted Eric Davila in the first round. Parysian (19-8 1NC), once considered a very promising prospect, has only one win since 2007, and most recently lost a split decision to Jordan Smith at AFC 1.
Beerbohm (16-2), was recently released from Strikeforce after dropping bouts to Pat Healy and Shinya Aoki. Varner (18-6-1 2NC), who had recently flirted with retirement, went 1-1 in his last two fights against Nate Jolly and Dakota Cochrane. Varner has been keeping busy. and will be taking on Drew Fickett at XFC 16 this Friday.
Speaking of Fickett, "Night Rider" (41-16) looks to get back to his winning ways. Pickett is currently on a three fight losing streak, with his most recent loss coming to Ronys Torres at AFC 1. He takes on a submission fighter in Knabjian (12-6-1), who is currently on a two fight winning streak, most recently defeating Brandon Adamson at XFO 42 in December.
Worldwide MMA 1 takes place March 31st in El Paso, Texas.
