While Mixed Martial Arts may still be officially banned in New York State, there has been a fledgling culture of events promoted under the Muay-Thai fighting banner.

The largest such event to date will be held in The Theater in Madison Square Garden, which has hosted boxing and professional wrestling in the past on Friday 3/16.

The event will be the first martial arts competition in the facility since the rise of MMA as a sport in the early 1990s and UFC's popularity explosion a decade later.

The Take On Promotions event will feature 24 scheduled bouts, making it the largest event held in New York. The show will be headlined by Rigel Balsamico vs. UFC veteran Ryan Madigan.

Also set for the event:

*Prairie Rugilio vs. Angie Babel.

*Final of the 8-man “Rising Stars” Lightweight Tournament: Andrilo Suarez vs. Freddy Cheung.

Other scheduled fighters include Jarrell Miller, Brian Collette, Sean Hinds, Jay Matias, Brett Hlavacek, Andy Singh, & Anthony Demaio.

There is a pre-sale currently ongoing using code PREMSG at this link. Tickets range from $150 down to $36.
