The UFC on FUEL 3 card is quickly filling up.
UFC officials today confirmed the addition of three more bouts to the May 15th card.
TUF 7 winner Amir Sadollah will take on Wanderlei Silva protege Jorge Lopez in a welterweight bout, in a fight that had been previously planned, but scratched due to injuries; Lightweights Aaron Riley and Cody McKenzie will meet in an interesting tilt; and lastly, Dongi ‘The Ox’ Yang and meets Brad Tavares in a preliminary card middleweight bout.
Sadollah (5-3), who won season seven of The Ultimate Fighter, most recently dropped a unanimous decision to Duane Ludwig at UFC Live 5 in August of 2011, whereas Lopez (11-2) most recently dropped a decision to Justin Edwards at UFC Fight Night 25 in September.
Riley (30-13), fought on the prelimary card of UFC 135 in September, where he suffered a TKO loss due a jaw injury at the hands of Tony Ferguson. His opponent, McKenzie (12-2), has lost his last two bouts by rear naked choke, and looks to get back into the win column. Prior to those losses, the "AK Kid" was undefeated.
Yang (10-2) has never won a fight that has gone the distance. With 9 knockouts and 1 submission to his credit, the powerful striker dropped a unanimous decision to Court McGee at UFC Fight Night 25 in September. On the other side of the cage, Tavares (7-1), came up short in his most recent bout against Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 in July 2011.
With these bouts, the UFC on FUEL 3 card looks like this:
Main Event: Dustin Poirier vs Chan Sung Jung
Donald Cerrone vs Yves Edwards
Thiago Silva vs Igor Pokrajac
Tom Lawlor vs Jason MacDonald
Amir Sadollah vs Jorge Lopez
Aaron Riley vs Cody McKenzie
Dongi Yang vs Brad Tavares
UFC on FUEL 3 takes place May 15th in Fairfax, Virginia.
