Following the instant classic between Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez at UFC On Fuel TV I, UFC President Dana White stated that all future main events will be five rounds. While some non-title fights have been five rounds, this is the first time that the UFC President said that all main events will be five rounds. Non-title fights like Chris Leben vs. Mark Munoz (UFC 138), Rashad Evans vs. Phil Davis (UFC On Fox II) and Dan Henderson vs. Mauricio Rua (UFC 139) have been five round affairs. The next non-title UFC headliner will be Martin Kampmann vs. Thiago Alves at UFC On FX II, no word on how many rounds that fight will be.
