The Outlaw is back and looking for redemption.
UFC officials confirmed today that Dan Hardy will be fighting at UFC 146 in May, his opponent, fellow striker Duane "Bang" Ludwig. Verbal agreements are in place for the bout.
Hardy (23-10 1NC), was on top of the division not long ago, when he faced Georges St. Pierre for the welterweight title. He fell to the long time champ, and then fell repeatedly, losing four straight fights to GSP, Carlos Condit, Anthony Johnson, and Chris Lytle.
Hardy then took several months off to recharge and work on his game, and looks to make a big splash upon his return. His job is undoubtedly on the line.
His opponent, Ludwig (21-12), will also be looking to get back into the win column. Ludwig was choked out by Josh Neer at January's UFC on FX 1 card. Before that loss, Ludwig had put together a two fight win streak.
UFC 146 takes place on May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is expected to feature a heavyweight title fight between Junior Dos Santos and Alistair Overeem, a middleweight tilt between Jason "Mayhem" Miller and C.B. Dollaway, and two lightweight bouts between Paul Sass and Jacob Volkmann and Edson Barboza and Evan Dunham.
