THREE NEW BOUTS ADDED TO UFC 146

By Joe Lebeau on 2/22/2012 9:18 PM

Three new bouts have been added to May's UFC 146 card as Gabriel Gonzaga will meet Strikeforce import Shane Del Rosario, "The Ultimate Fighter 14" winner Diego Brandao will face Darren Elkins and new UFC signee Glover Teixeira will take on Kyle Kingsbury.

Gonzaga (13-6), most recently returned to the organization after being released in October of 2010. Upon his return, he made short work of Ednaldo Oliveira. Del Rosario (11-0), most recently defeated Lavar Johnson at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva over a year ago. Shortly after that bout, a car accident caused Shane to consider retiring from the sport due to injuries, but thankfully, he has recovered, and makes his return to action.

Brandao (14-7), tore through all of the competition he faced on "The Ultimate Fighter 14", leading up to his submission victory over Dennis Bermudez at the finale. "Ceara" finds himself on a four fight win streak, not including the TUF bouts. Elkins (13-2), makes his fourth UFC appearance on the strength of a two fight win streak. His most recent appearance was at UFC 136 in October where he defeated Tiequan Zhang via unanimous decision.

Recent UFC signee Glover Teixeira (17-2), makes his long awaited UFC debut on the strength of a 15 fight win streak. He most recently defeated Ricco Rodriguez at MMAAD" MMA Against Dengue in November. Kingsbury (11-3), returns to the octagon after a loss to Stephan Bonnar at UFC 139 in November halted a four fight winning streak.

So far, the UFC 146 card looks like this:

Heavyweight title bout: Junior Dos Santos vs Alistair Overeem
Edson Barboza vs Evan Dunham
Dan Hardy vs Duane "Bang" Ludwig
C.B. Dollaway vs Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Paul Sass vs Jacob Volkmann
Gabriel Gonzaga vs Shane Del Rosario
Diego Brandao vs Darren Elkins
Glover Teixeira vs Kyle Kingsbury

UFC 146 takes place on May 26 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
