PENNIES NEED MORE VALUE
The WWE tag titles look like big pennies. They are quite possibly the ugliest championships I have ever seen. With all that being typed, they need to be valued a lot higher than a penny. Maybe that's why the WWE chose that color, because that's how much they think they're worth? The tag team division used to be just that, a division. Now it's a couple of tag teams that we rarely see and whoever is free that night to tag with Kofi Kingston. (Personally, I think Kofi shouldn't be in another tag team for five years.) There has to be someone in the WWE that thinks tag teams and the tag titles matter, right?
I have a simple fix that the WWE can do right now. Give the tag teams they have right now TV time on RAW and Smackdown. Give them promo time, even if it's a picture-in-picture gimmick, which they have done recently. We need to be able to care about these characters so we can start to put the effort in to get them over. If they can start giving the teams they have the proper TV time, they can start to re-establish the division. They can also add some value to the titles if they would stop giving two guys who are in a feud the tag titles. If they are feuding, they shouldn't be able to beat an established team that works together all the time. Just a couple of simple fixes and while Internet wrestling fans can be fickle, they'll be more likely to forget all the bad if they start doing it right again. Tag team wrestling can be strong again, and can be the backbone to the mid-card.
LAURINAITIS V LONG, DO IT AT 'MANIA
I could very well be the ONLY person in the world who wants to see John Laurinaitis against Teddy Long at Wrestlemania. I do know that I am NOT the only one that would want to see Laurinaitis win if they indeed had a match at 'Mania. The reasons are quite simple and intelligent, I swear. For starters, this would end the TV time these two are taking up by bickering back-and-forth about which one can pee the furthest. I enjoy Laurinaitis' character as the RAW GM. I think he's over, and not with “X-pac heat,†but true heel heat. As soon as he cracks that smile, magic happens. As much as some might hate to admit it, Laurinaitis is gold. Secondly, a match at 'Mania that Laurinaitis wins would also mean that I would no longer have to endure Teddy Long. His 2004 schtick has to go. Every time his music hits, I cringe at the thought of him dancing like a moron and the use of the words “believe dat†and “playaâ€. This past Tuesday on Smackdown when Laurinaitis danced like Long, he looked as ridiculous as Long does when he dances.
If the WWE is going to go with one GM for both shows, it NEEDS to be Laurinaitis. The only people who think Long should be on TV are the marks. Long comes out and the crowd actually cheers this guy? It's bordering on sad how much of a pop he gets, which is the only reason I would worry if they do have this stipulation in a match at 'Mania. The WWE might try to feed the marks what they want and I'll have to continue to endure Teddy “2004†Long. However, I do know that Vince McMahon isn't stupid and even he has to be able to see the forest through the trees. He has to know that Long's departure is LONG overdue. So at 'Mania, whether there's a tag match where these two are represented or they go at it, it needs to happen, and Laurinaitis needs to win. Please?
CM PUNK AND CHRIS BROWN FEUD
Close your eyes and imagine for a moment if social networking sites were around when Mike Tyson and Steve Austin got into their scuffle on RAW. It would've been mass hysteria all over the Internet. Now imagine if CM Punk and Chris Brown cross paths in the social media driven world that we currently reside in. It would be mass hysteria. Which is exactly why it HAS to happen.
These two haven't even stood in the same room together yet it is all over TMZ, Twitter, CNN Headline News, etc. If the WWE can get these two in the same building, it could very well be Tyson/Austin magic all over again. I am not, by any means, comparing Mike Tyson to Chris Brown, however, they may not be too far off as one in the same. Tyson did it in the boxing realm, with some domestic abuse charges. Brown has done it in the music realm, also with some domestic abuse charges. The only difference, Tyson did jail time, and that's where the problem lies. Punk thinks that Brown should have done some hard time and since he didn't, Punk wants to show him a hard time.
Vince McMahon likes ratings, and Punk V Brown in some way, shape or form, would equal ratings. Strike while the iron is hot, Vince! Take Punk and Brown, put this on a RAW, and let's see the mayhem unfold. Is it a work? Is it a shoot? Who cares! Entertain me!
