Fight #5 - Strikeforce Middleweight Division Fight

Ronaldo Souza (14-3-0-1NC) vs. Bristol Murande (15-6-0)

Referee: Keith Peterson

Round One

The round begins with Souza charging at Murande while throwing strikes, Murande then catches Souza with a counter right. Souza then barely catches Murande with a push kick to the stomach area, Souza then lands a right hook on Murande before scoring a takedown. Souza then gets back control on Murande, Souza then starts weakening Murande with some ground and pound. The referee halts the fight for Souza illegally attacking Murande, the fight resumes with Souza immediately dropping Murande with a right. Murande then finds a way to stand up before getting dragged back to the ground, Souza then returns to back control on Murande. The fighters go back to their feet and Murande body locks Souza as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Murande catching Souza with a straight left, Murande then pops Souza with a counter right. Souza then backs Murande up with a two punch combination and a spinning heel kick, Souza then briefly gets the fight to the ground. Souza the cracks Murande with a counter right to the jaw, Souza then catches Murande with a knee strike. Souza then works the body of Murande with a few hooks, Murande then starts attacking Souza with leg kicks. Souza then returns to his body punching attack and then he lands an overhand right, Souza then scores a takedown on Murande as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Souza quickly scoring a takedown on Murande, Souza is fast to move to the half guard on Murande. Souza then starts attacking Murande with knee strikes, Souza then starts attacking Murande with some ground and pound. Murande finds a way to stand up and he is quickly brought down by Souza, Souza then locks in an arm triangle choke and a tap out follows.

Fight Result: Ronaldo Souza def. Bristol Murande by submission via arm triangle choke (2:43, R3)

Post fight interview with Ronaldo Souza, who says he is happy to get the victory and he trains very hard at his gym in Brazil.

Fight #6 - Strikeforce Middleweight Division Fight

Lumumba Sayers (5-2-0) vs. Scott Smith (18-9-0-1NC)

Referee: Mark Matheny

Round One

The round begins with Sayers quickly catching Smith with a right, Sayers then scores a takedown on Smith and he gets back control. Sayers allows the fight to be stood up and a slugfest breaks out, Sayers then badly slams Smith to the ground. Sayers then locks in a guillotine choke and Smith taps out.

Fight Result: Lumumba Sayers def. Scott Smith by submission via guillotine choke (1:34, R1)

Post fight interview with Lumumba Sayers, who says he went through hell training for the fight and he will not call any fighters out.

Fight #7 - Strikeforce Welterweight Division Fight

Paul Daley (29-11-2) vs. Kazou Misaki (24-11-2-1NC)

Round One

The round begins with Daley nailing Misaki hard with leg kicks, Misaki responds by landing leg kicks of his own on Daley. Misaki then scores a takedown on Daley after eating a leg kick, Daley uses the wall walk to get the fight standing. Misaki then catches Daley with a wild left to the face, Misaki then catches Daley with a punching combination. Misaki then catches Daley with a right and then a straight left, Misaki then backs Daley up with a few strikes. Daley then scores a takedown on Misaki and he gets the closed guard, Daley then attacks with ground and pound as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Misaki attacking Daley with a few leg kicks, Misaki then charges at Daley after landing a body kick. The fighters clinch up and Misaki lands a few knee strikes, Misaki then rocks Daley with a wild left hook. Both fighters then catch each other with left hooks at the same time, Daley then rocks a spinning Misaki with a left. Daley then scores a takedown on Misaki and he gets in the guard, Daley then attacks Misaki with some ground and pound. Daley postures up and lands a strike before getting back control on Misaki, Misaki uses a scramble to get on top of Daley. The referee stands up the fighters after inactivity as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Daley immediately attacking Misaki with leg kicks, Misaki then catches Daley with a few counter punches. Daley then scores a takedown on Misaki and he gets the guard, the referee halts the fight because Misaki is bleeding badly from the takedown. The fight resumes with Daley catching Misaki with a left hook, Misaki then catches Daley with a few hooks after eating a head kick. Misaki then attacks Daley with a flying knee strike, both fighters then pop each other with jabs to the face. Misaki then crushes Daley with a kick to the midsection, Daley then briefly scores a takedown on Misaki. Misaki then powers Daley up against the cage wall, Misaki then lands a punching combination on Daley as the round ends.

Fight Result: Kazou Misaki def. Paul Daley by split decision (30-27, 28-29, 29-28)

Post fight interview with Kazou Misaki, who says he was a little off tonight due to the weight cut and he thought the decision was a little disappointing.

Fight #8 - Strikeforce Lightweight Division Fight

Josh Thomson (18-4-0-1NC) vs. KJ Noons (10-3-0)

Referee: Keith Peterson

Round One

The round begins with Thomson backing Noons up with a front kick to the jaw, Thomson then goes for a spinning back kick and Noons pushes him to the ground. Thomson then nails Noons with a counter right, Thomson then lands a kick to the rib cage area on Noons. Thomson then chases Noons and nails him with a high head kick, Thomson then scores a takedown on Noons. Noons then attacks Thomson with short range strikes as he is getting his legs pulled out, Noons then gets semi-back control on Noons. Noons then uses a scramble to get Thomson into the half guard, Thomson then attacks Noons with ground and pound as the round ends.

Round Two

The round begins with Noons barely connecting with a superman punch on Thomson, Thomson then falls after nailing Noons with a head kick. Thomson then powers Noons up against the cage wall after eating a few knee strikes, Thomson then scores a takedown on Noons and he gets leg control. Noons then forces Thomson into his full guard after a brief scramble, Thomson then starts attacking Noons with some ground and pound. The referee stands up the fighters after inactivity and Noons starts unloading on Thomson with punches, Thomson then starts attacking Noons with push kicks. Thomson then catches Noons with a two punch combination, Thomson then drags Noons to the ground after eating a few strikes. Thomson then starts attacking Noons with some ground and pound as the round ends.

Round Three

The round begins with Noons trying to pressure Thomson with strikes, Thomson then scores a takedown on Noons and he gets the half guard. Thomson then goes for the arm triangle and Noons escapes, Thomson then gets back control on Noons. Thomson then moves to full mount on Noons aftera struggle, Noons then finds a way to get Thomson into the half guard. Thomson then starts attacking Noons with some ground and pound, Noons then scrambles to get Thomson into the full guard. Thomson attempts to posture up and he immediately gets back into the guard of Noons, Thomson then resumes his ground and pound attack on Noons as the round ends.

Fight Result: Josh Thomson def. KJ Noons by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Post fight interview with Josh Thomson, who says his performance was terrible tonight and his conditioning was terrible due to injuries.

Main Event - Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Title Fight

Miesha Tate (12-2-0) (Champion) vs. Ronda Rousey (4-0-0)

Referee: Mark Matheny

Round One

The round begins with both women trading like crazy, Rousey then scores atakedown on Tate and she gets side control. Rousey then postured up before going back into side control, Rousey then goes for the arm bar and Tate escapes. Tate then scrambles to get the fight onto the feet, Tate then drags Rousey to the ground and she gets back control. Rousey then finds a way to get the fight back to the feet, Tate then drags Rousey back to the ground and she gets back control again. Rousey uses the scramble to get back to her feet, Rousey then powers Tate up against the cage wall before scoring a takedown. The fighters stand up again and Tate catches Rousey with a punching combination, Rousey then scores a judo toss takedown on Tate. Rousey then moves to full mount on Tate, Rousey then moves to back control on Tate and she locks in the arm bar until her arm breaks and the referee stops the fight.

Fight Result: Ronda Rousey def. Miesha Tate by submission via arm bar (4:27, R1) to win the Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Title

Post fight interview with Ronda Rousey, who thanks everybody for supporting her and she dedicates the fight to her deceased father. Then she says that she does not feel bad about breaking her opponents arm and she welcomes a fight with Sarah Kaufman. Post fight interview with Miesha Tate, who says that the arm is a little sore and she respects her opponent.
