Vanguard Championship Wrestling' Luck is for Losers this past weekend.
Chatch and Krotch retained the VCW Tag Team titles over Sam Bass and Hax Bandito with Mr. Salazar. This was a really good match and a solid opener for the show, Chatch and Krotch are loved by the fans.
Owner of VCW Travis Bradshaw and Commissioner Gremlina, the same one from GLOW, unveiled a new title called the VCW Commonwealth Heritage Championship and awarded it to "Cock Diesel" Ray Storm. The title has an open challange attached to it that any one can take up and in its first time up Ray defended it successfully against Terrell Jones. After the match, Chris Escobar returned and challenged Ray Storm to a match for the belt on April 21 at the Norfolk Masonic Temple. Storm accepted.
Paul London and Jay Steel fought to a no-contest when Diamond Victor Griff and Shorty Smalls interfered. The match then turned in to a tag match where Diamond Victor Griff and Shorty Smalls defeated the London-Steel Connection when Griff knocked out Paul London with the Liberty Title belt he got off the internet and rolled Smalls on top for the pin. Another good set of matches here with London v Steel opening with a push up contest which Steel won in the words of London because "he was in the military."
Caleb Konley beat Brandon Scott by submission. This match was right after intermission and had some nice fast paced action but i feel the crowd wasn't as into it as they would have been had it been else where on the card.
Kid VCW and Chase "The Punker" Strummer defeated the Hallstars via count-out. Another great match with some long term story lines going on.
After the match the Hallstars quit VCW due to their recent bad luck. Gremlina convinced them to stay by promising them a tag team title rematch. George Pantas, former VCW Commissioner, intervened and announced that he is now the manager for Chatch and Krotch. There was some debate between Gremlina and Pantas i couldn't here it all but it involved Gremlina putting her job on the line which she declinded and ended with a rematch at the next show for the Tag Titles with the stipulation if the Hallstars lose again, George Pantas gets five minutes in the ring with Jerry Stephanitsis. Jerry is a color commentator and has back story going with Pantas.
Main event time and....
Phil Brown comes out with a sling on and announced that he was not medically cleared to wrestle due to a shoulder injury. Current VCW Heavy Weight champ John Kermon assumed he would leave without an opponent until Mugabi the Cannibal made his return to VCW! The decision was made that Kermon would fight Mugabi, but it would be a non-title match. Mugabi defeated Kermon by dq when Kermon hit Mugabi with a low blow. Kermon attempted to escape, but was stopped by Phil Brown. Phil rolled Kermon back in the ring and Mugabi splashed the champion three times and Phil made a 3 count. Phil was scheduled for his rematch for the title he lost at the Lutz Cup. That match was moved to the next show April 21 at the Norfolk Masonic Temple as long as Phil is cleared.
Over all yet another good show that reminds me why i love wrestling and can't stand what i see on the majority of national TV. VCW has yet to disappoint me and i hope any one reading this with-in driving distance of Hampton Roads VA comes to check out one of their shows and also remember the sport they love. http://www.vcw-wrestling.com/
