The current M-1 Global Light Heavyweight Champion Vinny Magalhaes has left the promotion, as his contract has expired. The former UFC fighter stated in recent interviews that he knew he was leaving the promotion following a controversial moment during his last fight. This past October, Magalhaes was in the midst of a battle with Mikhail Zayats when his manager heard one of the M-1 promoters rooting and giving instructions to Zayats, Magalhaes still won the fight. Although nothing is official at this point, it is rumored that both the UFC and Bellator are interested in the champion’s services.
