On RAW, the Chris Jericho and CM Punk feud took another step in the right direction. Jericho apologized for all the negative things he said about Punk's dad and said he would never mention the dad again. He followed it up with, “However, your sister...†and I marked out. While he was apologizing for his comments about Punk's dad last week, I thought there was going to be some sort of twist. Of course, I do not know the history of CM Punk's family, so when Jericho dropped the sister line, I was pleasantly surprised. I've really enjoyed this whole feud.
I watched videos over the weekend from 2010 (which it could go back further, but I do not know for sure), hearing Chris Jericho say, “I am the best in the world at what I do,†and I couldn't help but feel bad for Jericho, the character. It's blatant gimmick infringement by Punk. I'll give Punk credit, he (and WWE) made money by putting it on a t-shirt. I do remember Jericho tweeting about Punk (and Miz) stealing parts of his gimmick; however, in Punk's defense, I will say that I don't know for sure if it was his idea or WWE's. With all this being typed, my point is, if you put yourself in Jericho's shoes, you could see why he would be pissed off strictly from a character standpoint. This feud makes so much sense from a realistic view. Then you add all the "family issues" and add the fact that this SHOULD be the best match at 'Mania, and we have the makings of a feud-of-the-year contender -- all of this being done by the same people who wasted our time with a John Cena/Kane feud. It's amazing they can give us THAT and then give us THIS.
Last week, I took the TIME to add up the ages of Triple H, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels and came up with the staggering number of 134. The main-event of RAW featured Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Undertaker in 2012. Think about that for a moment and tell me how ridiculous that sounds. OK, did I just blow your mind? Good. While I will admit I am looking forward to this Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania, I'm also looking forward to never having to see it again. What do I mean by it? By it I mean another Undertaker match. A match with Triple H at WrestleMania. Shawn Michaels being a special referee. I don't want it anymore. I'll buy into this match if it is indeed the “end of an era.†It most certainly adds to the whole feel of the night because we will NEVER have these three stars in the same ring at the same time, ever again. Think about it: this could very well be the Undertaker's LAST match. Incredible. Anything past 20-0 is just stupid. It has to all end at 20-0.
