Fight #4 - Bellator Lightweight Tournament Opening Round Fight
Thiago Michel (9-2-0) vs. Rene Nazare (10-1-0)

Round One
The round begins with Nazare quickly peppering Michel with jabs, Michel then catches Nazare with a counter right. Nazare then charges at Michel to power him against the cage wall, the fighters then exchange knee strikes while on the cage wall. Michel then starts to win the knee strike battle before the fighters are separated, Michel then lands two push kicks on Nazare. Michel then starts landing more knee strikes on Nazare as he is held on the fence, Michel then cracks Nazare with a head kick. Michel then kicks a charging Nazare right in the face, Nazare then holds Michel up against the cage’s wall. Nazare then scores a takedown on Michel and he gets the closed guard as the round ends.
Round Two
The round begins with Michel catching Nazare with a straight left, Michel then lands a snap kick to the head on Nazare. Michel then blocks a Nazare takedown attempt and then lands a few knee strikes, Michel then catches Nazare with a two punch/kick combination. Nazare then scores a takedown on Michel and he gets the open guard, Michel then briefly gives up his back before returning to the guard. The referee then stands up the fighters after inactivity and Michel lands a body kick on Nazare, Michel then catches Nazare with a head kick. Nazare then catches a Michel kick and he nearly gets caught with an inzaguri, Nazare then scores a quick takedown on Michele. Michele then clobbers Nazare with an uppercut and other big strikes, Nazare then scores a takedown on Michel as the round ends.
Round Three
The round begins with Nazare attacking Michel with leg kicks, Michel then starts attacking Nazare with some leg kicks of his own. Michel then pops Nazare with a counter left after avoiding a kick, Michel then starts winning the leg kick battle with Nazare. Michel then barely lands a spinning back kick to the body of Nazare, Nazare then scores a takedown on Michel and he gets the closed guard. Nazare then starts landing a few strikes on his opponent, Nazare then advances to the half guard on Michel. Nazare then goes for the arm triangle choke on Michel as the round ends.
Fight Result: Thiago Michel def. Rene Nazare by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
Post fight interview with Thiago Michel, who says he is focused on the next round and to fight in the USA was a dream come true.
Fight #5 - Bellator Lightweight Tournament Opening Round Fight
JJ Ambrose (17-3-0) vs. Brent Weedman (19-7-1)

Round One
The round begins with Weedman quickly popping Ambrose with leg kicks, Weedman then drops Ambrose with a left. Ambrose gets back up and he scores a takedown on Weedman, Ambrose then locks in a d’arce choke on Weedman and he eventually escapes. Weedman then gets top control on Weedman after escaping the submission, Ambrose then attempts a guillotine on Weedman. Ambrose then uses a sweep to get the fight standing, Weedman quickly hits Ambrose with an up kick before getting himself up. Weedman then scores a takedown on Ambrose and immediately scores the full mount, Weedman quickly captures back control on Ambrose. Weedman then starts attacking Ambrose with some ground and pound, Weedman uses a scramble to get full mount on Ambrose as the round ends.
Round Two
The round begins with Ambrose quickly scoring a takedown on Weedman, Ambrose goes for the d’arce choke again and Weedman escapes. Weedman winds up on top of Ambrose while landing knee strikes, Weedman then catches Ambrose in the crucifix position. Weedman then resumes his knee strike attack on Ambrose, Weedman then locks in the Von Flue choke and a tap out follows.
Fight Result: Brent Weedman def. JJ Ambrose by submission via Von Flue choke (3:26, R2)
Post fight interview with Bret Weedman, who says that he had the opportunity to apply the choke several times and then he dedicates the fight to his family.
Fight #6 - Bellator Lightweight Tournament Opening Round Fight
Rick Hawn (11-1-0) vs. Ricardo Tirloni (14-1-0)
Referee: Kerry Hatley
Round One
The round begins with Tirloni immediately attacking Hawn with a flying knee strike, Hawn then catches Tirloni with a counter right. Tirloni then starts attacking Hawn with leg kicks, the fighters clinch and Tirloni nails Hawn with a knee strike. Hawn the pops Tirloni with another counter right, Hawn then leaps at Tirloni before nailing him with a left. Hawn then drops Tirloni with a right and he follows it up with a few more strikes until the referee jumps in.
Fight Result: Rick Hawn def. Ricardo Tirloni by TKO via strikes (2:36, R1)
Post fight interview with Rick Hawn, who says that knockout felt great and he felt surprisingly good dropping weight to compete at lightweight.
Fight #7 - Bellator Lightweight Tournament Opening Round Fight
Patricky Freire (10-2-0) vs. Lloyd Woodard (11-1-0)
Referee: Jacob Mantalvo
Round One
The round begins with both fighters catching each other early, Woodard then catches Freire with a few knee strikes. Woodard then accidentally nails Freire with a low blow and the fight is halted, the fight resumes with Woodard catching Freire with a left. Freire responded by tossing Woodard to the ground and then catching him with a knee strikes, Freire then catches Woodard with a right. Woodard then drops Freire with a straight left, Woodard then dives into the closed guard of his opponent. Freire tries to stand up while eating knee strikes from Woodard, Freire then stands up before scoring a brief takedown on Woodard. Freire then scores a takedown on Woodard and he quickly gets full mount, Woodard uses a scramble to get on top of Freire. Woodard then starts attacking Freire with some ground and pound, Woodard briefly postures up on Freire before landing a right. The fighters stand up and Freire rocks Woodard with a series of lefts before scoring a takedown, Woodard then tries for some submissions from his back as the round ends.
Round Two
The round begins with Woodard quickly attacking Freire with leg kicks, Freire then chases Woodard while throwing lefts. Woodard clobbers Freire with a right after eating a flying knee strike, both fighters then just start trading blows like crazy. Woodard then rocks Freire with a knee strike before taking the fight to the ground, Woodard then locks in a kimura and a tap out follows.
Fight Result: Lloyd Woodard def. Patricky Freire by submission via kimura (1:46, R2)
Post fight interview with Lloyd Woodard, who does his best “Rocky†impersonation and then says he wants his rematch with Michael Chandler.
