That's not some wrestling lingo for like what happened when Yokozuna beat Bret Hart and then minutes later Hulk Hogan beat Yokozuna to become WWF Champion. Both Bret and Yoko got up the next morning.
I'm talking survival, survival.
Moments after Rasche Brown, repping Big Block's crew out of the ATL, won the UWF World Title, security camera footage caught him handing the belt to someone. Less than four hours after that, other security cameras caught the champ getting jumped and capped.
Four hours. 240 Minutes. And then....dead.
Exactly how the UWF World Title ended up in the hands of the Carol City Cartel, dem Maybach Boys, is still not exactly clear. Was it one of the Triple Cs who Rasche handed the belt to? Or, was it one of the MMG's goons who took out the champ and laid him to rest? Or, did handing the belt over to someone, maybe directly to the Triple Cs, lead to Block giving orders to take out the champ? And was Block's absence from that night forward a sign or a mere coincidence? What exactly all went down between the time UWF Street King went off the air and UWF Thug Assassins began is still extremely unclear...and truth be told we may never have all of the answers.
But, what we do know is that the Thug Assassins show opened with the Triple Cs making their way to the ring accompanies by recruits Element, T-Mizzle, and Slymm - who was carrying the UWF belt and calling himself the champ. The Triple C's had been claiming they would be coming to the UWF for a number of months now and they definitely made an impact in their debut - world title in their grasp.
Brisco and Rich "Beast" Ortiz were hanging in the balcony of Club Amnesia, where the Thug Assassins battles were going down, and Beast, who had gone toe-to-toe with the deceased champ in the Street King title tournament wanted to know where Rasche was because he wanted what he felt was a deserved shot at the belt. A couple of guys in the crowd started heckling Slymm and while security prevented "the champ" from getting at the hecklers, Slymm grabbed the first person he could from the crowd, tossed him into the ring, and gave the guy the beatdown of his life.
While all the commotion was going on, Uncle Murda and his crew made their way to the ring (accompanied by Lowlife Louie Ramos, Slyck Wagner Brown and new recruits Raze and Riot) and while they let the champ and the Triple Cs leave the area, they had a message for Ortiz and Brisco...that there was no way that Beast should be considered the #1 contender and he challenged him to fight him then and there to figure out who should get the 1st shot at Slymm. Beast didn't waste any time and the two were soon brawling all over the ringisde area. But it would only be a matter of time before it became all out crew warfare as Uncle Murda's new recruits Raize and Riot hit the ring to attack Beast, but they were not able to do much damage before the LEP Bogus Boys made good on their promise to come after Murda's boys and the two biggest men in the UWF, The Phat Pack (S Dot and Big Baby Daddy) attacked and decimated the new recruits. As Beast took the opportunity to head back to the dressing rooms he was attacked by T-Mizzle and Element - softening him up for his eventual clash with their champ Slymm.
UWF announcer Robbie Mireno put it best after all of that "It's an all out war. No winners, just casualties."
Bodies were laying all over Club Amnesia....and the actual scheduled battles for the night had not even begun!
40 Glocc added label mate Sun (from S.W.A.T., Houston, TX) to his expanding enterprise. Melle Mel had yet to be seen again since 40 started moving in on his BX turf, but with expansion comes the potential of new and greater enemies, so adding more allies may be the smartest move that Glocc has made yet. Maybe feeling a little more confident with some back up, Glocc and Famous B sought out Billy Blue and Jeez and laid out a one-on-one challenge. It was at the very 1st UWF event, First Blood, that Jeez won a Five Way War against four other men including the last man standing with him, Famous B. Seeking to prove that one-on-one the Cali crew had the edge, Glocc and B threw out the challenge. It was a fiercely competitive fight both in and out of the ring. "He got so high on that move I caught a contact!" Mireno said about one of Jeez's dives onto B at ringside. No recap in text here on this site is going to do the match justice. This is one that needs to be seen, At one point Sun tried to trip up Jeez as payback for a bit of disrespect from the streets, but Jeez was able to mount a comeback and once again beat B. Jeez stood tall as one of the only men in the UWF with two wins, BUT, that celebration would not last long as Monsta Mack, the same Mack who Jeez and the Blue crew had jumped out for losing at Street King, hit the ring and laid out his former ally before jumping into the crowd and having a drink at the bar!
Billy Blue had a victory under his crew's belt, even if Jeez did get laid out after the match, but a win is a win and that means $$$. Though the challenges to Blue were not over for the night. While Blue and Brisco share a hometown and have respect for each other, they've also got a deep rivalry. This lead to a bet between the two over which man's goon, Bestia for Blue or Brisco's newest acquisition Masada, would win a fight. They also decided to up the ante and put $10,000 of their own money up in addition to the UWF $ on the line.
The UWF crew business isn't just for rappers themselves anymore as "The Prince of NY" DJ Self has set up shop of his own, running a slightly different game, but bringing some heavy hitters with him, including Joker, who had to straighten out some potentially crooked business between Big Block's ATL crew, namely Grim Reefer, and Self.
In the main event of Thug Assassins, it was Uncle Murda's Slyck Wagner Brown battling Big Block's Ruckus in a fight that was definitely going to help determine who was getting a shot at Slymm and the UWF World Title after Beast Ortiz and the champ go head to head at Ruthless Revenge on March 25. Murda had been VERY clear to Slyck...a loss in 2012 was not acceptible. His crew had enough losses and now it was time to take over. With Block M.I.A. from Club Amnesia, and not seen at all since Rasche Brown was left D.O.A., Murder One accompanied Ruckus to ringside so he wasn't walking into war alone. The two kicked each other's asses all over the ring just as you would expect when not only UWF money but that claim to be a top contender to the World Title was on the line. Ruckus kept the high flying assaults coming but nothing seemed to keep Slyck down. At one point Ruckus seemed to have Brown done for when Lowlife Louie Ramos from Murda's crew hit the ring and laid him out. Murder One, who has gone to war with Ramos before, immediately jumped in the ring and the two ended up taking their fight out of the ring and then out of the building into the streets. In all of the chaos, Brown ended up pinning Ruckus to win the fight for the East NY Murda crew and now, it looks like Brown has the right to claim top contention to whoever wins the Slymm/Ortiz fight coming up on March 25th at Ruthless Revenge.
Every time the Urban Wrestling Federation hits PPV, the fights, the action, the tensions just get bigger and hotter. From virtually out of nowhere, the Triple C's and Slymm are on top of the UWF World but with new players like the LEP Bogus Boys, DJ Self, and Sun, and with questions still unanswered about who took took out Rasche Brown, the whereabouts of Big Block and Melle Mel, with vengeance on the minds of guys like Monsta Mack, and rivalries between guys who at one point had decided to work together but now can't seem to stand being outdone, guys like Brisco and Billy Blue, it's only going lead to exactly what Steve "The Hustler" had in mind when he created the Urban Wrestling Federation...insane action for viewers as the bosses pit their goons against each other for other people's enjoyment. Don't miss your chance to see the most action-packed hour in the fight game - a UWF Pay Per View event - when Ruthless Revenge premieres Sunday, March 25th.
