Two welterweights in need of a victory will collide at UFC 149 as Yoshihiro Akiyama has agreed to fight Thiago Alves. Akiyama has only won one of five in the UFC, with that lone victory being his UFC debut against Alan Belcher at UFC 100. Alves is coming off of a heartbreaking loss to Martin Kampmann at UFC On FX II, a loss that occurred after a last second guillotine choke forced a submission. UFC 149 takes place on July 21st at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo headlines.
