With Antonio Silva now scheduled to fight Cain Velasquez at UFC 146, Roy Nelson was left without an opponent for the event. That has changed tonight because former top contender to the UFC Heavyweight Title, Gabriel Gonzaga, will now meet the UFC Ultimate Fighter Champion. Nelson is in need of a crucial victory, winning one of four in UFC competition, with that one victory coming over Mirko Cro Cop. Gonzaga returned to the UFC at UFC 142 following a year plus absence, defeating Ednaldo Oliveira by submission. Gonzaga was originally set to face Shane Del Rosario at the event, now its Del Rosario without an opponent due to the card changes. UFC 146 takes place on May 26th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and a UFC heavyweight Title Fight between champion Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir headlines.
