UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo will be defending the gold against Erik Koch at UFC 149, instead of the originally rumored UFC 147 event. Aldo has been dominant at champion in the UFC, defending against Mark Hominick, Kenny Florian and Chad Mendes. Koch earns the title shot with an undefeated run in the UFC with victories over Raphael Assuncao and Jonathan Brookins. UFC 149 takes place on July 21st at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with the aforementioned title match headlining.
