In the world of independent professional wrestling, it seems like everyone has some sort of tournament to crown the "king" of their promotion. For NWA Coastal commissioner Tommy Cairo, the mindset behind the "YOUNG LIONS" tournament was a little different. After receiving many requests from wrestlers who wanted to work for the NWA Coastal promotion, Cairo formulated his plan to showcase this young talent, and allow the fans to have a say with regard to who ends up on the NWA Coastal roster.
He selected 12 participants, who include:
1. Magod Ali
2. Alex Payne
3. Bobby Youngblood
4. Damien Alexander
5. Johnny Nos
6. Sebastian Cruz
7. Alex Starr
8. Excluse I.M.
9. Matt Conard
10. Spartan
11. Kevin Tibbs
12. "Hybrid" Josh Adams
Cairo's prize for winning the tournament is a big one.......a shot at the NWA Coastal Iron Man Championship that's currently held by the Cuban Crippler Ricky Reyes. To be fair to the existing Coastal roster, he added current Coastal stars Alex Payne, and Hybrid Josh Adams to the mix. According to Cairo, while taking a belt from the legendary Reyes won't be easy, if one of these workers can get past the 11 other competitors in the tournament, they'd have a pretty good chance.
More important however, is the ability for fans to help decide who ends up on the NWA Coastal roster. After the show, fans will be able to vote for up to 2 weeks after the show, and the top 3 vote getters will become part of the NWA Coastal roster!
This epic show will take place at the Bayville (NJ) Elks Lodge, on May 12th, with a 7:30 pm bell time. Tickets are $12, and can be purchased in advance at the Elks Lodge or online at https://www.brownpapertickets.
