I sat in front of the TV on Monday for a good hour and some minutes, bored. While RAW was good if you REALLY took a deeper look at what was happening, on the surface it was boring. I was bored, to death. That is, until Paul Heyman made is triumphant return to the WWE. You knew it was just a matter of time, right? That column that I posted called; "Vince Needs Brock" has now completely become a reality. They brought back Lesnar and now they brought back Heyman. So, as Heyman walked to the ring, I was elated. There was a loud "ECW" chant and I loved it. Then, the crowd died, and as I have stated in the past, a crowd can make or break anything. In my opinion, Greensboro killed that whole segment. They just sat on their hands. I'm guessing some of it was because the people, who knew Heyman, were shocked he was there. The other part of it was the people who had no idea who he was, and didn't know how to react. I, personally, love the fact that Heyman is back and look forward to him filling the void left by Lesnar not being there. I hope Heyman will go back to being Lesnar's ringside companion. Time will tell if that's the case.
On Twitter, I asked my followers to tweet me what they liked about the RAW they were watching. I'd like to share some of those right now:
From @Debo5914Patrick: well that fatal 4way match will probably make me order the PPV
My reaction: He is referring to the World Heavyweight title match at Over the Limit. Which will be Sheamus (c) vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Alberto Del Rio. I, too, was glad that THIS is the match for the PPV. I think this could be the sleeper match of the night.
From: @TheMichaelRiba: Dolph Ziggler getting a win is ALWAYS a positive
My reaction: Good point, Michael. I'm a HUGE Ziggler fan and it feels like it has been an eternity since Ziggler last won on TV. Let's see if this leads to something.
From: @DfnRey: It gave Johnny Ace national exposure that he was actually a big thing in japan plus we got to see Kelly Kelly’s enhancements
My reaction: I like the tie in between Johnny Ace and Lord Tensai. It's all truthful stuff, as shown by the pictures, so that adds to the story. As for Kelly Kelly, it seems as those she did SOMETHING to those boobs.
From: @joeyvegas911: I think only highlight is Heyman. The rest of the show was lackluster. Making the title match a 4 way is a nice touch!
My reaction: I agree with all of it.
From: @TheMichaelRiba: We all known towns can't be as great as our hometowns, Chicago and Miami, respectively, good sir.
My reaction: This is basically what I said above. It's a known fact that crowds will make it or break it.
You can tweet me during RAW your thoughts and they may also get featured here in my column. You can find me on Twitter @FordPWInsider.
BIG BAD TWEETING DADDY
There's no secret that Scott Steiner has been taking his anger with Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan to Twitter (@ScottSteiner). You can go and read them if you haven't. Please beware, however, that his language is on the adult side and his grammar is on the 3rd grader side. He clearly does not tweet with a keen eye for grammar. I digress, I don't work for the grammar police so who am I to judge?
He recently has opened up a can of worms on Bischoff in regards to Easy E paying a stripper to have sex with his wife. I had NO idea this even happened. So Steiner has MY attention.
I was going to write some big detailed recap about this, but I have chosen to wait a little longer, to see what Steiner says next. If you're on Twitter, follow him, if you're not on Twitter, bookmark his page and check it once a day just to see what he has tweeted. You won't regret it, believe me. I'll write about this next week, when I hope there are more details out from Steiner. I will say this, Hulk Hogan did an interview where he was asked about Steiner and in TYPICALLY Hogan fashion he put the heat on Steiner, making it sound like HE was the crazy one. Hogan stated that he has "no idea why Steiner is angry" and "the last time I saw him we shook hands and he gave me numbers for doctors". I'm thinking that Hogan might be full of it.
BAD EXAMPLE, TIME TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE
It's 2012 and it's the era of the social network. Not the movie, but of the way people interact with their friends, family members and celebrities. This past Monday, CM Punk had some BAD interactions with someone on Twitter. Punk tweeted about gay marriage and how it should be OK to marry whoever you want to marry. A fan then tweeted that men were meant for women and the thought of gays made him sick. CM Punk, who probably gets 100s of tweets on his Twitter responded to this fan and told him to "kill himself". In today's WWE, where image means EVERYTHING, this is a no-no. The WWE, while sometimes plays the ad at the wrong time, has a campaign going against bullying. This is a HUGE thing for the WWE. They put a lot of effort behind this campaign, and what CM Punk did goes against the image the WWE is trying to portray.
An example needs to be made out of CM Punk.
I know CM Punk apologized to the fan. I know the fan said something pretty ignorant. However, I also know that CM Punk could have just IGNORED this fan, like he probably does to a majority of the tweets he gets. In hindsight, I'm sure he'll agree. This reminds me of a few years back when RVD was busted with pot while him and Sabu were in a car together. RVD later dropped the WWE/ECW title as he was champion at the time. VKM and the WWE need to pull the title off of CM Punk at the OTL PPV. We live in a very politically correct time when you can't say certain things no matter how justified you think you are in saying them, especially when you're the face of a publicly traded company like the WWE. This type of stuff just can't happen, and since it did, CM Punk needs to no longer be the face of the company for a while. Daniel Bryan should and needs to win the WWE title at OTL.
